European Waterways Blossoms with the Sights of Spring Onboard Luxury Hotel Barges in Holland, Alsace, and Burgundy

Up to $1,000 Off Per Cabin and $6,000 Off Selected Charters

2014-04-18
NEW YORK, NY, April 18, 2014 (Press-News.org) European Waterways, Europe's largest luxury hotel barge cruising company, welcomes the 2014 season with a wide selection of cruises that immerse guests in the colorful scenery, cuisine and cultural heritage of some of Europe's most popular regions. Guests are treated to views of the picturesque windmills and famous tulips of Holland; the unique, half-timbered architecture of the Alsace region of France; and the wines of Burgundy in the heart of France - all while enjoying up to $6,000 off the price of full boat charters and up to $1,000 off per cabin on select cruises through the end of summer.

"With the warm weather finally here and the landscape coming to life, travelers from all over the world are being drawn to Europe," said Derek Banks, managing director of European Waterways. "Our wide range of cruises allows them to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and travel the many scenic waterways, all in total comfort. And we're making Spring even more attractive with a wide range of cabin and whole boat charter specials."

The Windmills and the Wine
Now and through early May, cruising aboard the intimate and luxurious 12-passenger hotel barge Panache, travelers experience the culture, architecture, and beauty of Holland. Renowned for its famous windmills, charming waterside villages, and its millions of colorful flowers in full bloom every Spring, Holland is a virtual cornucopia of taste, fragrances, and spectacular views. Guided by European Waterways' highly professional and experienced crew, guests can visit the famous Keukenhof Gardens, the Gouda cheese markets and the Aalsmeer flower auction - where up to 20 million flowers are sold daily.

In June, Panache is repositioned in the Alsace region of France, where guests enjoy a wonderful and unique mix of French and German cultures, cuisine, architecture, and fine wines. With a large sun deck, a spa pool, and bicycles to ride along the Alsace towpaths, Panache offers passengers a chance to explore historic sites and really experience the region. Highlights include a visit to the Rene Lalique glass collection and Strasbourg's gothic Cathedral, as well as a chance to see the unique Arzviller boat elevator, which transports the barge 450 feet up a mountainside.

This year, European Waterways is offering $5,000 off Panache's full-boat charter price and $1,000 off per cabin on select cruises in July and August.

Historic Cruises in Burgundy
With endless miles of vineyards, countless elegant châteaux, and quaint villages, a cruise on L'Art de Vivre through Burgundy is a great way to see the geographical heart of France. Home to some of France's most beautiful canals and magnificent cathedrals, Burgundy transports guests back in time as they cruise the historic region.

The L'Art de Vivre itinerary features a visit to the elegant Château de Bazoches, exploring the enchanting Auxerre and its magnificent cathedral, and a trip to the medieval village of Vezelay and its hilltop basilica.

There is still time for guests to enjoy up to $1,000 off per cabin for select May cruises, as well as up to $6,000 off the full 8-passenger charter prices for select cruises through May. Guests can also enjoy up to $3,000 off the full charter price for select cruises in July and August.

Cabin specials are based on double occupancy. Other restrictions may apply. For more information and to see the full range of specials this season, visit: http://www.gobarging.com/ or contact sales@gobarging.com. Excellent videos of European Waterways cruises are available on Youtube.

About European Waterways
The hotel barging experience is different from large vessel river cruising. It offers a slower paced, "gentle voyage of discovery" along the more intimate canals and waterways of Europe, allowing a small number of guests to become more fully immersed in the culture, history and gastronomy of the region. European Waterways is Europe's largest all-inclusive luxury hotel barging company, offering vacations in nine countries and carrying over 2,000 passengers a year. Founded nearly 40 years ago, they own, operate and market a private fleet of luxury hotel barges with cruises in France, Italy, Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. Pioneers in hotel barging, they were the first company to operate a hotel barge on the Upper Nivernais in Burgundy, and the "real" Loire Valley. They are also the only cruise company offering barge cruises in Scotland and in the Venetian lagoon and River Po valley. Please visit http://www.gobarging.com for more information.
