Lean In's Tiffany Dufu to Speak at Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore's 3rd Annual "Hearts and Hope" Fundraiser

BALTIMORE, MD, April 25, 2014 (Press-News.org) Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore (BHGH Baltimore) invites community members, media and businesses to attend its 3rd annual "Hearts and Hope" event, an evening of community building and women's empowerment. LeanIn.org Launch Team member and Levo League Chief Leadership Officer, Tiffany Dufu, will keynote this year's event, presenting inspirational stories and leadership practices.

The evening will celebrate the first Girls Hope Scholar, featured on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition documentary in 2010, who will graduate from high school this summer and plans to attend college in the Fall. She is the first BHGH scholar from the Girl's House to graduate.

The event features a silent auction with items such as a family vacation to Disney World, handmade jewelry, luxury handbags, experience packages, and other exciting items.

Aerotek, a leading provider of recruiting and staffing services, and TEKsystems, a leading provider of IT staffing solutions, IT talent management expertise and IT services, will serve as the event's premiere sponsors. "Women in leadership is a key focus as we look to identify and advance top talent into our management pipeline," said Tanya Axenson, vice president of human resources at Aerotek. Boys Hope Girls Hope (BHGH) is an international organization founded in 1977. Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore (BHGH Baltimore), founded in 2002, is a regional and autonomous affiliate, which nurtures and empowers children living in poverty who want to succeed by providing year-round family-like homes, a first-rate education, opportunities, and support through college. BHGH Baltimore is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. No other program in Baltimore City accomplishes this. BHGH Baltimore sculpts a child's life from sixth grade through college. We impact the child, the friends, the family, and the community for generations to come.

Since 2002, 100% of the BHGH Baltimore scholars have graduated from high school. 80% have then either graduated college and graduate school, or are matriculating collegians. 20% are serving in the armed forces or employed full-time.
