LateRooms.com - See Mumford and Sons Live in Berlin

Acclaimed folk quartet Mumford and Sons are set to play Berlin's Columbia Hall next month.

2010-08-18
BERLIN, GERMANY, August 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) Music fans using Berlin hotels have a chance to see Mumford and Sons, one of the UK's leading folk rock bands, play live next month.

The London-based quartet are due to perform at the German capital's Columbia Hall on Tuesday September 28th, when a large number of Mumford devotees will no doubt be in attendance.

After releasing their debut album Sigh No More in October last year, the band have enjoyed chart success with singles Little Lion Man, Winter Winds and The Cave.

Known for their close harmonies and instrument-swapping approach to live performances, Mumford and Sons emerged from the same London folk scene that produced artists such as Laura Marling and Noah and the Whale.

The band's website describes Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane as four young men from west London with "fire in their bellies, romance in their hearts and rapture in their masterful, melancholy voices".

Having frequently supported Marling on tour, the group began to gain recognition for themselves when they were featured in the shortlist for the influential BBC Sound Of 2009 poll.

Support from Radio One DJs such as Zane Lowe and Greg James saw the band's fan base grow as more people discovered their wistful ballads and delicate harmonies.

"What we write about is real and we sing and play our instruments more passionately because we feel like we need to. We love honest music," explains Winston on the website.

Tickets for the Berlin concert, which will get underway at 20:00 local time, are available for EUR29.60 (GBP24.35).

Many British fans may be planning to travel to Germany to see them, as their string of live dates in the UK this October has already sold out.

Mumford and Sons will be playing at festivals such as Reading, Leeds and Electric Picnic in Ireland before they head over to Berlin.

For more information on this event visit the Mumford and Sons website.
