The company also announced its plans for its first four feature films; "Diamond in the Rough" (2012),
"Spirit of Rock" (2013), "Agent: Undercover" (2014), and a currently untitled Christmas themed film (2012). With the production and release of these films, Area 51 Entertainment will be well on its way to being a major player in the independent film world. Plans call for the untitled Christmas film, and
"Diamond in the Rough" to begin production in April 2012, and June 2012, respectively. Both films will be filmed in New Jersey.
Area 51 Entertainment is an entertainment company formed in early 2003 by Andrew McCarrick, to produce short films developed internally within the company, and to provide video services to outside projects. In late 2005, Kyle Ritzel, and David Goldberg joined the company; since then, the 3 have worked on numerous projects; and film and television production has become a passion of all three. In early 2012, Area 51 Entertainment has branched off into feature film productions, television productions, web-series productions, and forming a subsidiary record label Area 51 Records. Some of the companies current film projects include, "Diamond in the Rough", "Agent: Undercover", and "Spirit of Rock". And our current web series projects include "Ghost Encounters".
