Emirates Insurance Company Secures its IT Infrastructure with ESET NOD32

The company chose ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition because of its high detection rates, low false positives and fast performance.

2010-10-11
DUBAI, UAE, October 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) ESET, the leader in proactive threat detection, today announced that Emirates Insurance Company, one of the Middle East region's largest diversified financial services providers, has chosen ESET NOD32 to secure its IT infrastructure to minimize data loss risk arising out of security threats. Incorporated in Abu Dhabi 1982, the company's principal activity is the transaction of insurance and reinsurance business of all classes.

"We were determined to find a holistic security solution that helped prevent security outbreaks, minimise data loss risk, stop malware and protect networked critical systems as well as remote and mobile users," said Mr. Shah Ata Ahmed, Sr. MIS at Emirates Insurance Company. "We chose ESET NOD32 Antivirus as it provides us with substantially lower risk against security attacks and data loss, while at the same time, offering a simplified data protection solution that will save us time and administration costs."

Emirates Insurance Company installed ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for their entire IT network. ESET NOD32 gives users fast, effective and easy-to-use protection without getting in the way of day-to-day operations. It also provides smart proactive detection, thus blocking most known and emerging threats hours or days faster than other antivirus technologies available on the market. The application is also fast, light and unobtrusive, thus protecting the users' internet experience without annoying system slowdowns.

"Emirates Insurance Company chose ESET NOD32 because of its high detection rates, low false positives and fast performance. In twelve years of rigorous testing by Virus Bulletin, the widely-respected independent comparative testing group, ESET NOD32 Antivirus has never missed an in-the-wild virus, while competing antivirus products have missed samples in the double and even triple digits," Mr. Nias Usman, Technical Manager at Transemirates Systems, ESET's partner, who worked on the implementation of the security solution at Emirates Insurance Company.

Today's business faces both huge volumes of web and email-borne threats. Some attacks are so small and targeted that they are completely missed by signature-based antivirus. ESET NOD32 Antivirus' advanced ThreatSense technology proactively stops these new attacks before other vendors' products are aware these new attacks even exist. ESET NOD32 Antivirus is fast and does not slow down the users' systems or inconvenience the users while they work.

"Computers have become the blue-prints to our lives. We do our banking there, store our passwords, and record our lives in pictures and video - everything to do with who we are. If your computer is struck by a security threat, it can be a scary occurrence, but it doesn't have to be," explained Mr. Neo Neophytou, MD of ADAOX, ESET's Regional Business Development and Support Center. "For ESET, customer's personal freedom directs how they design their products and solutions. We are pleased Emirates Insurance chose ESET NOD32, which will offer them an extra layer of IT security."
