CashUSA.com Supports Mizzou Dance Marathon

Proceeds benefit the University of Missouri Children's Hospital to help in the battle against pediatric cancer.

2012-11-23
LAS VEGAS, NV, November 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) CashUSA.com, one of the nations leading websites specializing in cash loans, is participating as a sponsor of the Mizzou Dance Marathon to benefit the University of Missouri Children's Hospital.

Mizzou Dance Marathon is a student-led philanthropy at the University of Missouri. The Mizzou Dance Marathon's main event is on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 12 p.m. to 1:06 a.m. on March 10. At the event, participants dance for 13.1 hours straight. Dancers are required to remain standing for the full 13.1 hours and are not allowed to have any caffeine. To pass the time, live entertainment is provided throughout the event, including performances by local bands, Tiger X instructors, university dance and theatre groups, Dance Marathon family speakers, and more.

The fundraiser works with the Children's Miracle Network to raise money for the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Missouri Children's Hospital.

"Yes, we donate a lot of money to MU Children's Hospital to help fund blood and cancer treatment rooms, teachers' salaries, and programs that allow overseas military parents to see their sick babies. But Dance Marathon is about so much more than the money we raise. It's about the love we show. We dance and have fun with the kids so that they can be just that - kids," said Jessica Plumart, Mizzou Dance Marathon Family & Hospital Relations Chair.

University of Missouri Children's Hospital serves patients from every county in Missouri. With over 30 pediatric subspecialties, a pediatric ICU, adolescent unit and child life therapy, as well as teams equipped and dedicated solely to transporting infants and children, MU Children's Hospital is mid-Missouri's largest and most comprehensive pediatric health care facility.

In 2008, Mizzou Dance Marathon pledged a $100,000 donation to Mizzou Children's Hospital throughout the course of 5 years. In 2012, Mizzou Dance Marathon raised more than $78,000, completing its pledge to the hospital two years early. They signed a new five-year pledge of $375,000 in summer 2012.

"As part of CashUSA.com's unwavering commitment to give back to the community, we are proud to sponsor Mizzou Dance Marathon to help in the battle against pediatric cancer and provide support for a truly remarkable organization: Mizzou Dance Marathon," said CashUSA.com spokesperson Josh Becker.
