The Global Advertising Awards Opens for Entries

The Global Advertising Awards is officially now open to receive entries into the newest, most exciting and unique international advertising awards competition in the world. The award ceremonies will be held May 14-21, 2011 in Montreal!

2010-11-20
BREWSTER, NY, November 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Global Advertising Awards' Founder and President, Patrick Ferrara, officially announced today that The Global Advertising Awards' call for entry is now open.

Please click here or visit our website or to sign on to register www.theglobaladvertisingawards.com.

The Global Advertising Awards competition will award the best advertising produced around the world in print, radio, television/cinema advertising and in the new world of digital, Internet, social networking and new media advertising. The deadline for entry is January 31, 2011. Honors will be given for best in product category, best in production (technical) category and best in campaign category.

There will only be one award given in each category. Not a third best or a second best, only one winner, simply, "the best".

What makes this new International Advertising Competition different from others, other than its name, is the judging process. Advertisers (the client) will be judging the work of the entering advertising agencies and the advertising agency's talented creative and production personnel will be judging the work entered by The Production Industry and related services. This steers away from the peer system of judging and allows the people who search for and buy the services a global view of what is new, exciting and available.

The fees will be much lower than any other international competition. This allows smaller agencies and companies to afford to enter into a worldwide competition of this caliber.

The Global Advertising Awards is be putting a very strong effort into making sure all entries into the competitions follow a very rigid eligibility process. Strong penalties will be in place for those who do not abide.

The Global Advertising Awards will announce the 2011 winners at award ceremonies scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada in May 14- 21, 2011.

The Global Advertising Awards are not affiliated with any other competition or organization.

Titti Fabiani, owner and creative director of B Communications, Milan, Italy and noted and famed designer of home furnishings and furniture has honored The Global Advertising Awards by designing The Global Advertising Awards statue.

The name of this new award will be announced shortly.

For additional information, regarding entering and judging please visit our website at www.theglobaladvertisingawards.com or call 1-347-632-1130.

The Global Advertising Awards, founded by Patrick Ferrara, is a new and unique international advertising competition, different than all others. The Global Advertising Awards is now open for entries and the award ceremonies will be held in Montreal, Canada, May 14-21, 2011.

Dealing with Attention Following Breast Augmentation

2010-11-20
If you plan to have a breast augmentation, you have many things to consider. Among them is how you will deal with attention following your breast augmentation. This may not seem like a big deal, but many women are surprised by the discomfort such attention causes them. Make sure you choose a cosmetic surgeon with the kind of experience and personal concern necessary to help you prepare for a smooth transition. If you are basically an outgoing person who is used to being the center of attention, you will probably have little difficulty dealing with attention following ...

At the Houston Crime Lab, a Backlog in the Thousands

2010-11-20
The crisis in the Houston Crime Lab continues. In the most recent development, the Houston Chronicle reports the lab still has a backlog of thousands of untested rape kits dating to 1996, as well as 969 newer criminal cases awaiting DNA testing. This backlog grows at a rate of 75 unperformed tests per day. This tale began back in November 2002 (the problems actually extend back to the 1980s), when TV news reports questioned the quality of the forensic science work in the lab. This resulted in a shakeup and an independent investigation. The final report acknowledged that ...

Mental Illness Affects Punishment of Would-Be Dallas Terrorist

2010-11-20
Approximately one year ago, Hosam "Sam" Smadi parked a truck under Fountain Place office tower in downtown Dallas. He left the truck in the parking garage, walked away and entered a number into a cell phone. He expected the explosives in the truck to destroy the office building -- and kill approximately 2,000 people. Instead, he was arrested by the FBI and told that the explosives were fake. In October 2010, Smadi was sentenced to 24 years in prison for attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. Although the sentence may seem severe, it could have been longer if ...

Police Tipped Off to Parole Violator's Location by Facebook Post

2010-11-20
Of all the ways that a person can catch the attention of the police, a seemingly innocuous post on Facebook, MySpace or another social networking website is certainly not at the top of most people's lists. Many people use social networking websites to keep tabs on friends, share pictures of a night out or to just update friends and family about the everyday and seemingly mundane aspects of our life. However, it should be remembered that the Internet is a public forum, not matter what we believe our privacy settings to be. Even though our statements are aimed at a small ...

The Impact of Gender on Blood-Alcohol Content in DUI Cases

2010-11-20
A man and a woman drinking the same amount of alcohol will have different BAC levels. The women will generally be higher. The reasons for this are complex, and have a great deal to do with a women's body chemistry. Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream or on one's breath. This is the standard means of testing for levels of intoxication in DUI cases. BAC is expressed as the weight of ethanol, measured in grams, in 100 milliliters of blood, or 210 liters of breath. BAC can be measured by breath, blood or urine tests. The most ...

Push for Culture Change in Long-Term Care

2010-11-20
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates there are over 16,000 nursing homes in the United States. While the Nursing Home Reform Act was passed in 1987 to establish standards of care for nursing homes across the United States, allegations of substandard care, abuse and neglect still persist in long-term care facilities. A New York Times report notes that over 90 percent of nursing homes were cited for violations of federal health and safety regulations in 2007. In an effort to help the elderly and their families select the right nursing home, Medicare.gov ...
