PHILADELPHIA, PA, March 21, 2011 (Press-News.org) Deborah Gary established DHEx Enterprises, LLC, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2008, as a 100% female, minority, veteran-owned business and has jumped into the medical equipment sales market. Like many African Americans, Ms Gary suffers from high blood pressure and her family is plagued with heart disease. Attempts to control it through medication and a change of diet and lifestyle were not satisfactory for Ms. Gary. She was blessed with an understanding manager that agreed to retire her early from a highly stressed engineering management job in 2006 and 2 years later moved home to Philadelphia. However, what drove Ms. Gary to relocate from Alexandria, Virginia to Philadelphia is also what drove her to enter the medical sales market.
One thing Ms Gary observed over the years is the death of numerous friends who either did not know they had health problems, or did not control their health problems. She also noticed that many waited to go to the doctor to find out their basic status - such as blood pressure numbers, temperature, weight, and blood glucose level. Life expectancy of severely mentally ill dramatically reduced due to poor physical health

Physical ill-health is rife among the severely mentally ill in Britain, according to new research published today by the University of East Anglia (UEA).
In a study of almost 800 patients with severe mental illness such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, two-thirds were found to be overweight or obese, and a disproportionate number suffered from diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and raised cholesterol.
