LONDON, ENGLAND, July 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Due to the increased popularity of the site, and spread betting as a whole, financial trading website SpreadBets.org.uk has introduced a brand new section.

The new daily article, Spread Betting Markets, reviews key stock market developments as well as moves in the foreign exchange and the commodities markets.

"We introduced this latest section as we felt that our visitors would benefit from having a broad review of the markets," said James White, Editor at http://www.spreadbets.org.uk/.

"One of the most attractive aspects of spread betting is the fact that you can trade on a wide range of financial markets. Consequently, investors want a source of information that allows them to keep up to date with the stocks markets, the forex markets and the commodities markets. This new section covers all three."

The new spread betting markets section, which is updated daily, breaks down into four segments: the spread betting snapshot, the UK markets review, the forex review and the commodities review.

The spread betting snapshot covers a variety of markets, including moves in major stock market indices such as the FTSE 100 and the Dow Jones, the price of crude oil and developments in the FX markets. The UK markets review, the forex review and the commodities review then cover their respective markets in more detail.

White did add that spread bettors should still be wary of trying to speculate on too many markets. "Although being able to trade a wide range of markets can obviously be advantageous to financial investors, spread bettors shouldn't have more trades open than they can comfortably manage.

"Trading can be time consuming; even if you know everything there is to know about the markets, you can still become overwhelmed, particularly in today's markets."

The new section is the latest in a long list of improvements to www.SpreadBets.org.uk/ ; the site recently released a huge range of financial spread betting guides which followed a redesign of the site in February.

SpreadBets is a financial spread betting website which focuses on popular topics such as market analysis, share tips and spread betting offers. It also publishes regular financial spread betting reports and strategies.

Spread betting is a financial derivative which allows financial investors to speculate on markets to go both up and down.

Financial spread betting is a geared product, it carries a high level of risk to your funds and you may lose more than your initial investment. Please ensure that it fits your investment needs as it may not be suitable for all investors. Only spread bet with capital you can afford to lose. Before trading, ensure that you are fully aware of the risks and request independent advice where you feel it is necessary.

Why 'event cloaks' could be the key to the ultimate bank heist

2011-07-01
In this month's special issue of Physics World, which examines the science and applications of invisibility, Martin McCall and Paul Kinsler of Imperial College London describe a new type of invisibility cloak that does not just hide objects – but events. Using the ultimate bank heist as an example, McCall and Kinsler explain how a thief could, in principle, use an "event cloak" to steal money from a safe, without even the CCTV surveillance cameras being aware. The burglar would somehow need to split all the light approaching the safe into two parts: "before" and "after", ...

Scientists have shown that soccer players with superior ability in areas such as passing accuracy or sprint speed do not necessarily achieve better overall performance on the pitch. Gwendolyn David, PhD researcher at the University of Queensland, says "Athletic abilities measured in the lab were not associated with any measure of performance on the pitch. In other words, it's not your ability, it's what you do with it that counts." In the study, which will be presented at the Society for Experimental Biology Annual Conference in Glasgow on Friday the 1st of July, 27 ...

Climate change could turn oxygen-free seas from a blessing to a curse for zooplankton

Climate change could turn oxygen-free seas from a blessing to a curse for zooplankton
2011-07-01
Zooplankton can use specialised adaptations that allow them to hide from predators in areas of the ocean where oxygen levels are so low almost nothing can survive - but they may run into trouble as these areas expand under climate change. "OMZs are very difficult places to survive," says PhD researcher Leanne Elder from the University of Rhode Island. "But we have discovered that Phronima sedentaria have adapted in two specialised ways. Firstly they suppress their metabolism, which is very like hibernation in other animals. Secondly, while converting food into energy ...

Fox Chase researchers identify new mechanism used by cells to reverse silenced genes

PHILADELPHIA (June 30, 2011)—Scientists at Fox Chase Cancer Center have discovered a new mechanism used by cells in the body to turn on silenced genes. The findings will be published online in the journal Cell on June 30, 2011. The process investigated by Alfonso Bellacosa, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor at Fox Chase, and his colleagues, is called methylation, in which the cell chemically tags genes ...
