"ARAPPLI" Used for the World's First AR Greeting Card of Hallmark in Japan for Smartphones

Our smartphone application "ARAPPLI" is used for the world's first AR greeting card by Nihon Hallmark K.K. (CEO Noriko Azechi).

TOKYO, JAPAN, August 01, 2011

arara inc. (Minato-ku Tokyo CEO Yosuke Iwai) announces that our smartphone application "ARAPPLI" is used for the world's first AR greeting card by Nihon Hallmark K.K. (CEO Noriko Azechi).

AR greeting card "Smaho de Anime" (525 yen) has seven kinds and they are on sale from August 1st. The Hallmark's original popular characters such as "Yum Yums", "Bear's Wish", and "hoops & yoyo" appears as 3DCG and everyone from children to adults can enjoy.

AR is downloaded by reading QRAR mark on greeting cards and displays cute characters' movie which sends a message with birthday song. Characters which set a fire on candles or jump on to a bike can be enjoyed from 360 degrees. By harmonizing 3DCG contents with 2D cards, a greeting card which does not exist before has born.

People can take a picture with the downloaded CG. From ARAPPLI, the pictures can be sent with greetings and also can be uploaded on to "facebook" or "twitter" to share with friends
