The public has been deceived all these years that shopping is a way of life and is enjoyable. That is far from the truth and has directly contributed to personal debt and even sovereign debt, according to Wayne Sedawie the Founder of auction sites.
Buying retail is the best way for middle class population to be kept POOR. No longer do we buy quality products but instead people spend money on the cheaper items that don't last long and cost you dearly due to the constant update or renewal. Buying retail has been pushed on the public as the retail sector is one of the largest employee in our communities.
Today we buy short term items that are good for our economy as it keeps retails workers employed, give huge profits for shipping companies and property owners, however this way of purchase keeps you POOR.
As an example I am sitting on a quality lounge suite that is over 30 years old which has been used daily by four generations of my family. When purchased it cost over 2 weeks wages then, but cheap lounges can cost you 20 times more over the same period. The same goes for white goods. I only buy commercial fridges and have one which is 25 years old and it still works well. Even my rental properties have commercial white goods, I don't believe in wasting money in retail shops.
Consumers need to understand about compound interest of how 8.4% return per annum on an investment of $40,000 would be worth $50,000 over 30 years. Does Warren Buffett buy retail? He's an investor and doesn't believe in wasting money. Our economy needs stimulating, but buying imported cheap goods will only help the present economy and keep you poor. No civilization on earth has squandered as we have! The money I have saved by not buying retail or imported rubbish have helped me establish my business, selling items that DO appreciate in value. I firmly believe in selling a product that does not deplete my buyer's assets, as my business thrives on repeat buyers.
