TENBY, WALES, August 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) Fitness fanatics will put their endurance to the test in the Wales Marathon, which takes place in Tenby towards the end of next month.
The event gets underway on September 26th, encompassing the full-distance race, plus a half marathon.
Runners who are brave enough to take part in either of these events will set off from Tenby, before running on closed roads through nearby villages such as Jameston and Manorbier.
Although completing the full 26.2-mile course is likely to be a gruelling affair, those who do take part will have the opportunity to savour some of the beautiful scenery of Pembrokeshire, which contains the only coastal national park in Britain.
Both races are open to members of the public, which means there is no excuse for tourists staying at some of the fine hotels Tenby has on offer not to enter - although the organisers have noted that a small discount is available to running club members.
Standard registration for the Wales Marathon costs GBP30 and the half marathon has an entry fee of GBP25, with affiliates getting a GBP5 reduction on either of these prices.
"We are aware of the choice that athletes now have, so here at the Wales Marathon in 2010 we are very grateful for your support," the organisers stated on the event's website.
For more information on this event, visit the Wales Marathon website or contact the organisers on 01437 766 888.
