Phoenix Industries Names Dr. Serji Amirkhanian as Director of Research and Development

Former Mays Professor of Transportation in the Civil Engineering Department of Clemson University to lead Phoenix Industries R & D activities.

LAS VEGAS, NV, November 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) U.S.-based Phoenix Industries, a worldwide provider of waste tire recycling plants and asphalt rubber blending equipment and technology, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Serji Amirkhanian as Director of Research and Development.

Dr. Amirkhanian was the Mays Professor of Transportation in the Civil Engineering Department of Clemson University and an Alumni Distinguished Professor in addition to being the Director of Asphalt Rubber Technology Service (ARTS). He taught and conducted research in the area of construction materials, specifically hot mix asphalt mixtures, for over 20 years. He has published over 160 peer-reviewed journal publications, conference papers, and research reports in addition to over 200 presentations around the country and the world. Dr. Amirkhanian has been involved with numerous committees of ASTM, ACSE, TRB, and other professional associations for many years.
