Switch "12 Days of Switchmas" Promotion Celebrates Office Move, Holidays by Offering up Goods, Creative Services to Benefit Charity

Experiential marketing agency Switch is celebrating the holidays and its office move through its "12 Days of Switchmas" promotion. Switch is publicly giving away items and auctioning $150,000 worth of services and items to be donated to a charity.

2010-12-16
ST. LOUIS, MO, December 16, 2010 (Press-News.org) For most, December is a time for holiday planning and gift shopping, but for experiential marketing agency Switch, this year's holiday season includes the task of consolidating and moving employees from two offices into one larger, revamped facility. In true Switch fashion, the agency has taken their move and flipped it into a fun, cause-oriented promotion.

On Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Wednesday, Dec. 1, visitors to http://www.12daysofswitchmas.com got a preview of the goods and services "up for grabs" and for auction with 100% of the proceeds going to St. Louis- based charity—Independence Center. The site went live on Dec. 2 and will continue through the next 12 business days through Dec. 17, where visitors have the choice to either "Grab, Bid or Give." Items up for "Grabs" include unique office flair items from agency employees and client-donated items. The "Grab" items are free to site visitors with the hope they'll generate more interest and buzz for higher-value "Bid" auction items, including a variety of donated Switch creative services bundles valued at $150,000. "12 Days of Switchmas" site visitors are also offered an option to "Give" or donate personal items back to Independence Center via a free pick-up service.

Switch CEO Mike O'Neill says, "We're excited to be moving everyone into one place and we have a lot of stuff we just don't need. Sure, we could have just done a simple donation, but in an effort to 'Walk Our Talk' we felt we could do a lot more...thus '12 Days of Switchmas' was born. To take it a step further, we're donating some Switch creative services to be auctioned off as our way to give back to Independence Center.

"Certainly, the promotion is a little self-serving and creating awareness for who we are and what we do is an intentional by-product," O'Neill said. "At the end of the day, if combining our move, holiday spirit and generosity towards a great cause helps build the reputation of Switch, then we all win!"

Starting Dec. 2 and each day during the "12 Days of Switchmas," 10 items will be available for visitors to grab free of charge first come, first served. Auction items are available for the duration of the 12-day promotion to bid on or use "Buy It Now" with 100% of the proceeds to St. Louis' Independence Center.

The "12 Days of Switchmas" promotion targets Switch clients, new business client prospects, the advertising/marketing industry and peer agencies. Switch hosted a similar promotion, "The Office Giftaway," in 2009 which generated visitors from 71 countries and raised money for another local charity. This year's "12 days of Switchmas" promotional approach encourages repeat traffic to the site to check on grab/bid items and provides an outlet for users to give back personally. Switch will use E-blasts, digital and social media as the primary forms of communication for the promotion.
