WINDSOR, ENGLAND, January 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) A life-size Dalek, a 4ft tall vegetable (a yam), and gold dentures worth GBP6,500 are some of the more unusual items that have been left behind by guests at the Travelodge hotel chain*. And while it is questionable how these guests could have forgotten to take these particular possessions with them when they checked out, accidentally forgetting smaller, day to day items such as mobile phones, laptops and jewellery is a slightly more understandable occurrence.
Quoted on the BBC news website, a spokesman from the hotel chain said that in 2010 they had seen a real increase in left-behind portable computer and communication devices and accessories. Among the more common items left behind at the hotel were:
- mobile phones and phone accessories
- electronic devices including sat-navs, e-readers and digital cameras
- games consoles and laptops
- teddy bears and books
- clothing/toiletries
- handbags, briefcases and suitcases
- jewellery
- artificial limbs and false teeth
- hen/stag night accessories
