DirectRooms.com - Liverpool Hosts Cathedral Space From Now to 26 April 2011

One of the most distinctive buildings in the country, Liverpool's famous cathedral is renowned for playing host to some of the art and exhibition world's most famous displays in recent years.

2011-03-12
PHUKET, THAILAND, March 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) One of the most distinctive buildings in the country, Liverpool's famous cathedral is renowned for playing host to some of the art and exhibition world's most famous displays in recent years.

However, throughout April this year the famous venue will feature a display with a difference - a show which uses the building's bricks and mortar themselves as a template for art.

'Cathedral Space' is the brainchild of Colin Taylor, an artist who works out of nearby Manchester. Taylor is famous for painting landscapes of northern scenery but with 'Cathedral Space' has turned his eye to a new technique. The architecture, curves and styling of Liverpool's unique Cathedral is the subject of Taylor's paintings and the Cathedral will house no other works throughout April.

Art fans from around Europe regularly flock to see Colin Taylor's work and Liverpool expects to see a rise in tourist visitor numbers for the duration of the artist's 'Cathedral Space' installation. The city boasts some high class Liverpool hotels but attendees who wish to stay within walking distance of the Cathedral are advised by DirectRooms.com to book accommodation in advance.

'Cathedral Space' was opened formally by the Right Reverend James Jones, Bishop of Liverpool, in March and the show will run through until the 26th April. Art fans can enjoy some culture on a budget thanks to the exhibition being free to all.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com, said: "Liverpool's cathedral is quite a stunning monument and a fantastic place to see and experience artwork of this nature. The show has been in high demand since its opening and launch so we are recommending that people book their hotels in advance to stay somewhere within the cathedral's vicinity."
