LONDON, ENGLAND, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Wink Bingo is offering players the chance to win a special prize of competing for GBP50,000. A competition of this nature doesn't come around too often so all Wink players should do everything that can to ensure they don't miss out on the unique opportunity.
The Joy Pot has doubled in size and it will go off on Friday 29th April which is the same date as the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It will indeed make for a fantastic double celebration as one Wink Bingo player will be taking home the significant amount of GBP50,000. This is the biggest jackpot to have ever happened at Wink Bingo and a 75 ball game of bingo will determine who the winner is.
Normally the GBP100,000 Joy Pot takes place four times a year and each time GBP25,000 is up for grabs but this time it is double.
Up until April 29th, players can earn Pot Credits that in turn can be converted into cards for the games. The more you play means the more points you have and the more points you have means the more cards you will have for the game. The more cards you have means the more chances you have of winning a life-changing amount of money. Free cards for the game can be earned until Sunday 24th April.
Of if you want you can buy cards for the game for GBP5 from the Wink Bingo website.
Points can be earned in a variety of ways. Every 500 points is good for one free card. You will get five points for every bingo on the pot of gold pattern, two points for every GBP10 wagered on bingo games and one point for every GBP50 wagered on instant games. You will also get one point for every bingo on the number 25. If you email ilove@joyofbingo.com and write what you would put in your joy pot if you had one you will win 20 points. This can only be done once per alias.
Opportunities like this don't come around too often. The reality is that one person is going to win GBP50,000. Wink players have the chance to join the likes of Karaokesue who won GBP25,000 from a previous Joy Pot completion. She was thrilled to win that much but the next winner is going to win double that amount.

VIMS study: Propeller turbulence may affect marine food webs
2011-04-20
A new study by researchers at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science shows that turbulence from boat propellers can and does kill large numbers of copepods—tiny crustaceans that are an important part of marine food webs.
The study—by VIMS graduate student Samantha Bickel, VIMS professor Kam Tang, and Hampton University undergraduate Joseph Malloy Hammond—appears in the March issue of the Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology.
The researchers don't expect their findings to lead to any new "No Wake" signs in local waterways; their interest instead is to ...

Early product launches: How will consumers respond?
2011-04-20
A new study in the Journal of Consumer Research explains why consumers often indicate they are willing to pay more for a product that is not yet available—but are reluctant to pay that price when the product is ultimately launched.
The answer lies in the consumers' distance from the purchase. "In many product evaluations, a purchase is somehow removed from one's direct experience," write authors Torsten Bornemann and Christian Homburg (both University of Mannheim, Germany). For example, consumers may evaluate a preannounced new product long before it is available for ...
Breast Augmentation vs. Breast Lift
2011-04-20
One of the most common questions plastic surgeons receive from women contemplating breast surgery is whether to opt for breast augmentation or a breast lift. The two procedures are performed for different reasons and accomplish different goals. Your aesthetic goals will generally determine which procedure your plastic surgeon recommends; however, breast augmentation is often combined with a breast lift for enhanced results.
Breast Augmentation Overview
Breast augmentation is an effective way to help you achieve your desired breast size and shape. Breast implants are ...
Does seeing overweight people make us eat more?
2011-04-20
Consumers will choose and eat more indulgent food after they see someone who is overweight—unless they consciously think about their health goals, according to a new study in the Journal of Consumer Research.
"Why do people often think back on a pleasant evening with friends and realize that they ate more and worse food than they wish they had?" ask authors Margaret C. Campbell (Leeds School of Business) and Gina S. Mohr (University of Colorado, Boulder). If any of those friends carry a few extra pounds, just being in their presence could trigger what the authors call ...
When a salad is not a salad: Why are dieters easily misled by food names?
2011-04-20
Dieters are so involved with trying to eat virtuously that they are more likely than non-dieters to choose unhealthy foods that are labeled as healthy, according to a new study in the Journal of Consumer Research. It seems dieter focus on food names can work to their disadvantage.
"Keeping your weight-loss goal in mind as you scan the lunch menu at a café, you are careful to avoid pasta selections and instead order from the list of salad options," write authors Caglar Irmak (University of South Carolina), Beth Vallen (Loyola University), and Stefanie Rosen Robinson (University ...

Why do hopeful consumers make healthier choices than happy ones?
2011-04-20
Happy people are more likely to eat candy bars, whereas hopeful people choose fruit, according to a new study in the Journal of Consumer Research. That's because when people feel hope, they're thinking about the future.
"Most of us are aware that we often fall victim to emotional eating, but how is it that we might choose unhealthy or healthy snacks when we're feeling good?" write authors Karen Page Winterich (Pennsylvania State University) and Kelly L. Haws (Texas A&M University).
Because previous research has explored how feeling sad leads to eating bad, the authors ...
