Fireworks Show and Family Fun in Kalona, Iowa

An Independence Day tribute to our nation.

KALONA, IA, July 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) We are proud to present the Shiloh Amphitheater's 21st Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular! The show is created and developed by a team, led by producer Rick Holbrook, based out of Los Angeles, California. Production is then moved to Iowa on a 48-foot trailer a week and a half before the performance date. Here the audio system is assembled, sets are constructed, and final lighting is set. The production team works with The Richmond Shooters, certified pyrotechnicians from the local community. The choreographed fireworks show is meticulously programmed and cued with each hit of music. This year's show will be an intimate experience for the audience with many close proximity stage fireworks! Make sure to grab bench or grass seats to view the show at its fullest.

This year, the show's producers have collaborated with Shiloh and the local community to create a wonderful afternoon of family festivities. Concessions will be available, as well as music and activities for the whole family, including balloon sculpting and face painting. La Michoacana Taco Truck will have a variety of Mexican food along with the Washington County Cattlemen's Association who will be selling their delicious barbeque. All of the proceeds made by the Cattlemen's Association will go towards agricultural scholarships for youth in Washington County. There will be live music by bands from both Kalona and Los Angeles. Several of the musicians have performed all over the world and have gathered here to bring you a night of good old-fashioned, live entertainment.

American Dreams fireworks will take place on Sunday, July 3rd. In case of rain, an alternative show will be scheduled for Monday, July 4th. Food and family activities will be from 4:00 to 8:30 PM. Live pre-show performances will begin at 7:00 PM and the fireworks show will begin at 9:00 PM in the Shiloh Amphitheater (Capacity 5000). Events are located at 100 Shiloh Drive, off of Highway 1, just south of Kalona. Bench and lawn seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Best viewing is on the benches, but if you prefer to sit on the grass, please remember to bring a blanket. Come early to enjoy a treat from one of our concession stands, or from the local food trucks that will be joining us! Picnic baskets are always welcomed. The doors will close at 8:45 PM. Admission is free and parking is $5.00 per carload.
