Family Law Cases

The types of family law cases, the possible outcomes, and what constitutes a family law case varies from state to state. You will want to retain a family law lawyer who is experienced and knowledgeable in the state laws for the state in which you are conducting your family law case. Your lawyer will be able to guide you through the specific laws of the state and advise you on the possible outcomes and the suggested actions you should take for your family law case.

There are four typical types of family law cases that you may find yourself going through the legal process for:

- The nature of your union: This involves the nature of your marriage, your civil union, or your domestic partnership
- Marriage issues that arise during your union: This involves matters such as spousal abuse, child abduction, child abuse, legitimacy of the children, surrogacy, adoption, dependancy, child neglect
- The termination of your union: This involves divorce, separation, and annulment
- The issues that arise with the termination of the union: This involves child support, parental responsibility, visitation rights, custody of the children, alimony, division of assets, and property settlements

Why You Need a Family Law Lawyer

Family law cases cause great stress and anxiety to all the parties involved. There are many aspects of each type of case that need attention and certain actions need to be taken in order to get the outcome you are hoping for. Sometimes, there are time sensitive papers that must be signed or actions that need to be taken. With the stress and anxiety of a family law case along with trying to work, comfort children, and keep the home life somewhat stable, it can be difficult to remember to do these time sensitive tasks. Also, you may not know what your options are and what rights you have.

By retaining a family law lawyer, you can have comfort in knowing that someone is on your side and has your best interests in mind. Your lawyer will keep your legal documentation in order and help you remember the important time sensitive tasks that must be done. Your family law lawyer will inform you of your rights and give you expert advise so you can get the outcome you desire.

Questions about Tummy Tucks

2010-10-01
What is a tummy tuck? A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a plastic surgical procedure to contour and flatten the abdomen by removing areas of fat and skin. The muscles of the abdomen are then tightened. The tummy tuck helps sculpt the abdomen in a way that exercise and diet alone cannot. Variations of the tummy tuck include tightening the back and flanks, as well as the buttocks and outer thighs (called a body lift). Both a partial, or mini, tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck are options. What is the tummy tuck procedure like? This is an invasive surgical procedure ...

Patients have been seeking out aesthetic improvements in their smile for decades. But recently, there have been several new trends developing in cosmetic dentistry, especially regarding the types of patients seeking out this treatment. Portland cosmetic dentist Dr. Sue Wendling has noticed several trends which indicate that her target population may be changing slightly. "I have noticed that many of my general dentistry patients have been requesting smile makeovers at the same time that I perform their routine treatments such as filling cavities," says Dr. Wendling. ...

Dimple-Plasty: New or Just Newly-Popular?

2010-10-01
According to many media reports, there is a hot new plastic surgery procedure known as dimple-plasty. Although this procedure does seem to be experiencing a surge, some claim this procedure is not new, only newly-popular. Dimples are commonly described as abnormalities, sometimes even defects, in the zygomatic muscles, which are essential to smiling and other facial expressions. In people with dimples, this muscle has a division, with the smaller portion of the muscle attached to the skin of the cheek. When the zygomatic muscle contracts, the two portions of the muscle ...

Retinal Degeneration Can be Prevented with Nanotechnology Gene Therapy

2010-10-01
Researchers from Tufts University published results from a study showing vision-saving gene therapy to the eyes can be delivered via nanotechnology. A protein called Glial Cell Line-Derived Neurtrophic Factor (GDNF) can protect the eyes from diseases of the retina, such as age-related macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. The previous method for delivering genetic material with a virus had several problems and side effects. Although the study is in its infancy, and the results are temporary, mice injected with the GDNF carrying nanoparticle had a 3.9 to 7.7-fold ...

2010-10-01

The Lindseys contend that during the labor and delivery process, a certified nurse practitioner of Obstetrics & Gynecology of Atlanta, P.C., (OB/GYN of Atlanta) and other ...

Morales had a "significant relationship" over the girls, meaning that he lived with the girls at the time of the assaults. The H-1B Visa and Its Impact on Foreign Relations

2010-10-01
America's H-1B Visa allows qualified foreign workers temporary entry into the United States for the purpose of undertaking employment. The H-1B Visa also entitles a worker's spouse and children to live in America, and is one of the most sought after non-immigrant visas. However, this visa only applies to foreign workers who meet certain criteria, and unlike many other visa programs, an American employer must petition United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") on behalf of a prospective foreign employee. Despite the complications involved in an H-1B ...
