LITTLE ROCK, AR, September 21, 2012 (Press-News.org) Lee Enterprises Consulting, the world's largest alternative and renewable fuels consulting group, announced today that they will host their annual teleconference call on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm Central Standard Time. The one hour call is by-invitation-only and is open to biodiesel producers and plant owners, obligated parties, investors, lenders, small and others directly involved in the biodiesel industry. The group's annual call covers items that the group considers to be among the most pressing in the industry, and features industry experts to speak about those issues. The topics for this year's call are as follows:
1. "Recent OSHA Developments in Safety and Process Safety Management for Biodiesel Plants". (Speaker: Nathan Vander Griend, VP, Client Services, ERI Solutions, Inc., Colwich, KS).
2. "Selling Your Biodiesel with RINS: Promoting RIN Integrity. (Speaker: Susan Olson, V.P. of Analytical Research and Development, Genscape RIN Integrity Network, Louisville, KY).
3. "The Effect of the New Health Care Legislation on Biodiesel Plants with Employees". (Speaker: Jim Schmidt, CPA, Director of Renewable Energy, Eide Bailly, CPAs & Business Advisors, Minneapolis, MN).
"The biodiesel industry has undergone some difficulties in 2012" says Lee Enterprises' CEO, Wayne Lee, "but as we look at the industry, we note that more biodiesel was produced this year than in 2011". Lee further observes that the EPA's recent announcement that the 2013 Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS2) renewable volume obligation will grow to 1.28 billion gallons, solidifies that even more biodiesel will be produced next year. Lee speculates, however, that the benefits of this increase will be largely enjoyed by the larger biodiesel producers unless things change. "The relatively isolated instances of RIN fraud over the past two years seem to have had a much greater detrimental effect on the smaller producers than on their larger counterparts," says Lee. "Unfortunately, and quite unjustifiably in my opinion, these smaller producers have borne the brunt of the difficulties while many of the larger producers have produced and sold at record numbers". Lee says that his group is actively engaged in helping those smaller producers, which he calls "the backbone of the industry". He notes that this year's call was specifically designed to help them better understand what they need to do to satisfy industry concerns, and to help lenders, investors and obligated parties understand why smaller producers may represent a viable, economic option for them going forward.
Anyone desiring to listen to the call can email visit the Lee Enterprises Consulting's website or email them to obtain access information. wlee52@lee-enterprises.com.
