RIVERVIEW, NB, January 24, 2013 (Press-News.org) It is the first and only book that postulates a fully developed theory on the evolution of language.
Released this past April (2012) by Sherman P. Bastarache titled, Tilogos: A Treatise on the origins and Evolution of Language.
The book has been and will continue to be criticized I suspect, for the use of the myths and quotations from Genesis, used to establish older word meanings in language development through time. I must first point out that very little myth, and/or bible is actually used and at that word usage or meaning dominates. The Bible is very old after all! We must admit to ourselves that before the advent of writing, language in the beginning with its crude form would have factually altered these stories until writing cemented them into the record. If we take the serpent said onto the woman as "animal talk," the eyes of them both were opened as "human talk" as I made inference to in the book, then what follows makes perfect sense. Over time, with poor communication as language was becoming perfected, the story would hold all or mostly all of the ingredients, just put together wrong due to earlier vagueness. The same applies to the myths I used from other sources.
If pressed, the scientific community would be hard of answers to explain how the Bible got evolution correct: snakes did lose their legs and crawl on their bellies. I don't have this problem to explain away! I don't even have to stand on the theory of creation to explain it away, it just follows. For instance, if, as I did suggest in the book, almost stepping on a snake produced the first digital sound, while using the names Adam and Eve; sorry, then the true, but altered inference of bruising her heel on the serpents head would make sense in the book of Genesis. Further, if innate, then the total, complete concept of snake, in the form of the call or cry, would hold the notion of "the reptile that lost its legs" which I can, at least in theory prove. (These are not commented on in the book.)
Moving away from the bible into Greek mythology, unknown to most people, the goddess of fertility (Aphrodite) was not the most beautiful of all women. She was actually, originally depicted as having six breasts running down her torso. Could it be a remnant of knowledge on the evolution of mammals where humans--primates--have lost breast quantity and birth quantity? Normally one birth, occasionally twins, but seldom more. Makes one think, doesn't it?
Alas, we have before us a complete, but confused historical record of the ascent of man to his digital speech supremacy. How can any sciences worthy of their name, ignore such an exciting finding? I do not even cover these things in the book, but I must defend them?
This follow-up press release was prompted by a semi-negative review which can be read by following the link: http://www.selfpublishingreview.com/blog/2012/10/review-tilogos-a-tre ... astarache/ The review is also defended on my web page: http://shermanbastarache.com/, but I will defend one statement here: "In general, maybe a lack of formal linguistics lets the writer down, for instance the theory based on phonetics dies when applied to French, which has no phoneme stress at all." What, you never heard the French "roll" their r's? Especially true when teaching the French language! Did every other language evolve except French? Is it good enough to say language just evolved, but not to say God just is? Double standards?
Many well written books are available on the topic of language, but at best they leave the reader with the most difficult question unanswered. Tilogos answers the question of how humans became endowed with our current form of speech, derived from our former mode of communication, namely our calls, cries, and other sounds. In this respect it is an original work of historical importance. The book as a whole is one solid theory to contend with and I welcome critiques of the work as any theory must have the property of falsification, the standard of scientific theories.
Tilogos is available through the publisher iUniverse, as well as Amazon, Chapters.ca, Google, Barnes and Noble, and any other online book source universally. The book is available in eBook format, hard cover and paperback versions.

Tilogos answers the question of how a sound could come to have meaning, be used in proper grammatical form and evolve into articulate speech.
If you cannot explain why myths are abundant, paralleled through cultures, and hold many truths, then leave it to those of us who can!

Texas Foreclosure Filings Down in Late 2012
2013-01-24
According to an analysis by RealtyTrac, the latter part of 2012 brought in a 21.24 percent decline in Texas foreclosure filings from the previous year. The numbers equated to one foreclosure for every 1,295 homes in the state.
Furthermore, lenders completed the foreclosure process on 2,552 delinquent mortgages in Texas over the month of October 2012. This marked a 40.68 percent drop from the number of foreclosure completions reported for the same month in the previous year.
It is good to see a decline in loan defaults and foreclosures. Nevertheless, they still can ...
Connecticut Custody Arrangements Reflect the Children's Best Interests
2013-01-24
Connecticut family laws are laser-focused on the best interests of children. When the court approves living and care arrangements for kids when their parents divorce or separate, the judge in the case is given wide discretion in how to determine what is truly in the minor children's best interests.
One Connecticut case calls the judge's responsibility in a custody decision an "awesome" one, and not in the currently popular sense of the word. In every aspect, it is paramount that the family court keep the children's best interests front and center.

Spouses Increasingly Using High-Tech Gadgets to Spy On Their Partner

Gadgets that were once only considered in the domain of government spies and Hollywood blockbusters are now providing evidence in a rising number of divorce cases in Texas and across the country. As these devices have become available to the public and more affordable, many suspicious spouses have turned to spyware to track the movements and activities of their significant others. Although the technology is available and often even marketed for this very purpose, however, the consequences for spying on a spouse without his or her knowledge can be severe.

The 48-year-old man in the cab behind the wheel of the pricey 2008 JD-6415 John Deere tractor was charged with driving under the influence, and the tractor was left at a Florence, S.C., impound lot.
