"Darkness Guides Us to the Light" on January 29 "Why Shamanism Now?" Radio Show Christina Pratt

On "Why Shamanism Now?", founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt talks about how we must explore the "darkness" and shadow within ourselves in order to heal ourselves and express our true selves.

2013-01-28
JERSEY CITY, NJ, January 28, 2013 (Press-News.org) Streaming live on the Co-Creator Radio Network (www.co-creatornetwork.com) on Tuesday, January 29, at 11 a.m. Pacific time/2 p.m. Eastern time, on her show "Why Shamanism Now?: A Practical Path to Authenticity," shaman and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt asks the questions: Who will guide us as we stand together with new allies -- The Unknown, The Wild Heart, and The Tao -- at the dawning of the New World crafting the new Story of the People? What lights the way? "In the end, the light of the Old World was the harsh light of judgment, the blinding light of righteousness, and the relentless light of monotheistic separation that drives us from all that naturally nourishes and replenishes the body and soul," explains Pratt. "We must now find our way in the darkness to rediscover True Light, the Light that dances in ecstatic reciprocity with Darkness and gives life."

In this episode of "Why Shamanism Now?" titled "Darkness Guides Us to the Light," Pratt explores ways to use shamanic skills to enter the Shadow and gain access to transform the roots of the habits, addictions, and unconscious patterning that limit our self-expression. These skills allow us to enter the darkest fears human experience offers and to see through the illusions that bind our hearts in mental unwellness, confusion, and depression. Finally Darkness is the path to the deep actions of self-care and self-love necessary to cultivate the internal richness needed to bring up True Light and the courage to express that light with creativity and humility in the world.

Christina Pratt is an authentic, non-traditional contemporary shaman. In practice since 1990, she specializes in mending the soul and transforming the parts of life that feel impossible. A teacher of exceptional clarity, humor, and inspiration, Pratt brings the power of shamanism into the practical grasp of anyone willing to take responsibility for improving the quality of their life. Her well-received book, An Encyclopedia of Shamanism (Rosen), is an 800-page, two-volume set with over 750 in-depth entries that clearly discuss the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples. Pratt is the founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing in Portland, OR, and New York, NY, creator of the original Foundations of Shamanism and Shamanic Healing course at the University of Minnesota, and a frequent and honored speaker for the American Holistic Medical Association.

A Practical Path to Authenticity", a live internet talk radio show with host Christina Pratt, airs Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Pacific time/2 p.m. Eastern time on http://www.co-creatornetwork.com/hosts/shamanism/host_bio.htm.
