ALLAMUCHY, NJ, January 28, 2013 (Press-News.org) Small businesses today are having a more difficult time than ever with the tough economy and the fast moving business pace. In any industry the trends are shifting faster than ever, rules change, business climate changes, every changes at a fast pace. In order for the business owner to grow and even maintain their business they must be more on top of the changes and respond faster than ever. Years ago, you could spot a slow uptick in the market over months or years even. For example the trend in car ownerships, the trend from station wagons to suv moved slowly over many years, allowing the car companies to slowly adapt.
Things today move much much faster. Software developers have a program on CD's, then it's a software as service, then everyone is on the ipad, then an ipad min comes out, new iPhone, android, etc. This whole cycle can take a year or less. Business must move an adapt faster than ever. I come from the Health care industry and run a private practice. Trends in the practice can move much quicker. An insurance HMO can come into a large company in your town and lower your rates, or a new practice can open up and your new patients can dip. The private practice doctor has to move quickly. If any small business numbers dip in any category, you must move quickly to change and adapt.
Quick response to change is the key factor to success in this modern economy. You must be able to spot a trend developing and respond quickly. If your new clients slip down for even a week or two, send out a marketing piece, don't wait till they are down for 3 months. Sales of a certain product are slipping, you need to find out why, change something, maybe you have a new competitor, find out what your customers are saying. You must be able to change and adapt quickly. The best method I have found to do this is to graph your statistics. You can do this yourself, using excel, writing programs, etc, but I could never find anything that was easy. Also, I wanted access to the data all the time. In this day and age, you shouldn't be relying on desktop software or Microsoft excel to keep an eye on your business.
I couldn't find what I needed out there, so I had a mobile app developed. The app is called iBiz Stats (http:www.ibizstats.com), it allows the user to enter the daily statistics for any user defined category. You can and should track every key metric of your business, new clients, collections, ad performance, new client sources, sales, staff production, you think it, track it. You have someone enter the key stats daily, or weekly, monthly, the app then tallys up the date to make a report, by day, week, month, quarter, year, and full color graphs that allow you to see trends. Easy to see graphs on your iPhone or ipad to pick up on trends! The best part of all is that the data is stored online, so everyone in the company can enter and view the data anywhere in the world on their iphone and ipad. It will change your business. iBiz Stats is only 9.99 and is available on itunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ibiz-stats/id564110407?mt=8) I hope you track and grow your business!
Dr James Fedich is the founder of iBiz Stats, LLC. IBiz Stats is available on the appstore, and more information if available at http://ww.ibizstats.com. IBiz has also released http://www.docspaydocs.com which allows doctors to buy and sell and paperwork, marketing materials, and more.
