Dr. Mark Jones and the other podiatrists at The Center for Podiatric Medicine in Chicago are excited to offer laser treatment for patients

2013-03-03
CHICAGO, IL, March 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dr. Mark Jones, Chicago foot doctor, and his associates at the Center for Podiatric Medicine are happy to be able to provide laser treatment to remove toenail fungus. The PinPoint FootLaser is a specially designed laser beam that goes through the toenail and safely kills the organisms in the nail bed that cause Onychomycosis, more commonly known as toenail fungus.

"I am very glad that our practice is able to utilize this new technology. These lasers are safe and very effective. I hope that many of our patients will explore this method of treatment as an option to rid themselves of toenail fungus," said Dr. Jones, podiatrist in Chicago, IL.

The laser treatment for toenail fungus offered in Schaumburg requires one or a few safe, quick treatments with little to no discomfort and is performed with no anesthesia as an outpatient service. The laser light beam is very gentle and has no effect on healthy tissue. No drugs or topical ointments are used and the laser kills toenail fungus and promotes clear nail growth in better than 90% of cases.

The microbes join to create slimy ribbons that tangle and trap other passing bacteria, creating a full blockage in a startlingly short period of time. The finding could help shape strategies for preventing clogging of devices such as stents — which are implanted in the body to keep open blood vessels and passages — as well as water filters and other items that are susceptible to contamination. Suppose also that every time you polished off a jug of two percent, you would be stocking up on raw material to make anything from a cell phone case and golf tees to a toy castle and a garlic press. And, you could give yourself a gold medal for being a bona fide, recycling, polar-bear-saving rock star. Michigan Technological University's Joshua Pearce is working on it. His main tool is open-source 3D printing, which he uses to save thousands of dollars by making everything from his lab equipment to his ...
