Warren Melamed Responds to New 1-800-Dentist Report on Patient Needs

A recent 1-800-Dentist report observes current needs and demands among today's modern consumer. Warren Melamed, veteran dental health professional, highlights the importance of this report in line with other patient trend observations.

2013-05-14
PHILADELPHIA, PA, May 14, 2013 (Press-News.org) Warren Melamed has experienced a great deal of changes in the dental industry throughout his years of practice as a dental care provider and CEO of Oral Health Management. He notes that while the industry has continued to progress, one thing has remained steady--patients are generally not excited about going to the dentist. However, he suspects that the dentist-patient relationship is improving, as consumers are showing an interest in modern solutions and are expressing their demands. As such, Melamed encourages all dental health professionals to take note of a recent report released by 1-800-Dentist entitled "What Dental Patients Want."

A recent article from Dentistry Today highlighted the new authoritative report and states, "The report, based on a nationwide consumer survey conducted by an independent research firm, analyzes real patients' attitudes towards dentists and dentistry - and provides dentists with practical advice on how to improve practice reputation and performance." Since the report is available to practitioners for no charge, Warren Melamed notes that the research presented in the whitepaper is essential to observe--even for dentists who are already forward-moving.

Warren Melamed comments, "This new report takes a look at dentistry from an important angle--the perspective of the patient. Most reports, new tools and practices revolve around improving the dentist's experience, developing business and delivering exceptional results. While these factors are important, it is also critical to pay attention to the other half of the equation--the satisfaction of the patient."

According to the article, the report takes a look at many diverse topics, such as "costs, treatment plan presentations, online reviews, appointment availability, dentist websites, marketing, word-of-mouth-referrals and insurance." CEO of 1-800-Dentist Michael Turner tells Dentistry Today, "Dentists will be surprised by some of the simple things that drive patients away. This report offers a peek behind the curtain into the minds of dental patients and reveals surprising trends that will drastically alter the way practices relate to patients."

While some may believe that patients only refer to dentists when necessary--such as in emergency situations--Melamed states that many are beginning to embrace the dental health in terms of continual and regular care. For instance, another article from Wall Street Journal suggests, "The fear of going to the dentist may be done with dentist's use of laser drills to remove tooth decay."

"With less apprehension surrounding today's patient, it is critical for dentists to not just look at the necessities of dental care, but also how to create a pleasant consumer experience," Warren Melamed concludes.

ABOUT:

Warren Melamed is a noted dental professional who is known for his work as the CEO and President of Oral Health Management--a Tennessee-based LLC. He is also recognized for founding Monarch Dental in Dallas, Texas--an organization that went public in 1997 and allowed Melamed to take on several roles as Chairman, President and Chief Dental Officer. Colorless Green Ideas

Colorless Green Ideas
2013-05-14
Language universals are due to "Brain Relativity" and have little to do with different languages evolving with the same structures independently. Noam Chomsky used what is now a famous sentence: colorless green ideas sleep furiously. He noted that reversing the order made no sense: furiously sleep ideas green colorless. When one applies Brain Relativity to the problem, the problem disappears. Colorless green ideas sleep furiously is almost a complete sentence in English: The colorless green ideas sleep furiously. Adding the word "the" makes it a ...

Will trucking accidents increase amid the oil boom in West Texas?

2013-05-14
In recent years, the oil production surge in West Texas' Permian Basin has increased oil drilling in the state to levels reminiscent of the 1980s. But, even though this particular boom has injected much needed money into this region's economy, it will likely strain many of the area's roads with increased trucking traffic. Sadly, given that many of the Texas roads in this region were not designed to handle such high levels of trucking congestion, trucking accidents almost seem inevitable. Rise in West Texas oil production According to a recent article by The Dallas ...

Confronting the iceberg: delayed diagnosis or misdiagnosis

2013-05-14
A delayed diagnosis or a misdiagnosis of a condition can lead to serious complications -- including death. For example, delays in diagnosing melanoma after pointing out irregular moles might mean a less favorable outcome. In other cases, a complete misdiagnosis of an illness could prove fatal. This could occur if a family physician sends a child home with a stomach virus diagnosis after failing to ask more questions and catch indications of acute appendicitis. Patients need to be aware of how doctors reach a diagnosis and ask questions. New research has found that more ...
