PediaCities Releases New York City Crime Map

Compare NYC crimes by neighborhoods and more with new interactive map

NEW YORK, NY, February 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) PediaCities, an online encyclopedia of data about New York City, has released an enhanced interactive crime map based on the New York Police Department's point crime data. The map is available at http://nyc.pediacities.com/crimemap.

The PediaCities Crime Map allows users to compare crime in different parts of the city - aggregated by police precinct, neighborhood, borough, zip code, city council districts, and community districts.

This is the first time crime data has been aggregated along familiar geographies, and not just along precinct boundaries, as was the case with NYPD's crime data. The PediaCities Crime Map also allows users to visualize different types of crime and compare it to the city as a whole.

Clicking on a location on the Crime Map will be take users to a detail page. On these detail pages, reported locations of individual crimes, filtered by type, along with additional data about demographics, housing, community resources, and other areas are aggregated on the PediaCities platform.
