Bright and Sunny Content Added to Site Builder Wix for Back-to-School Promotion
2010-09-02
NEW YORK, NY, September 02, 2010 (Press-News.org) As the school year takes off, Wix is one step ahead of the game with a Back To School promotion packed with user discounts and a beautiful new batch of free website content. A platform for the easy creation of customized Flash websites, Wix is a must-have for anyone interested in making a website without forking over a hefty pile of cash to a web designer, or committing time in learning how to code.

The new kid-themed templates are perfect for care providers, toy store owners, teachers, playgroups and volunteer mentorship programs. Packed with bright and colorful photos of classroom activities and smiling children playing with toys, the templates include cute new animations, like flowers bursting out of their pots, dancing dinosaurs and blowing bubbles. Replacing any of the content in a template can be done in a few easy clicks, letting users add their own logos, contact information, photos, text and links.

Wix is free - including the platform with which to build a site, and a library of Flash web design including fun icons, buttons, images, photo galleries and more. A slew of widgets like contact forms, Google maps and Google calendars can be added to heighten a site's usability.

Users who wish to receive additional features like domain ownership have the option of upgrading to a premium package, with either monthly or yearly billing cycles. All Wix users were notified by e-mail last week about the new content available, and were provided with discount coupons for premium upgrades.

Founder & CEO of Wix, Avishai Abrahami, describes the promotion "as a way to engage users with the new school-style content that we created just for them."

Check out the new school-style templates, ABC animations and classroom photos in the Create tab at Wix. To make your own free website, sign-up by creating a user name and entering your e-mail address.

Wix was created in 2006 and is located in New York, with additional offices in Tel-Aviv. The company is backed by Mangrove Capital Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners and Benchmark Capital.

We wanted a way to make creating high quality Flash websites and other web content faster, easier and search engine friendly. At the heart of Wix is our intuitive drag & drop editor where all the creating happens. A small but growing start-up, we love it when you use Wix to make your own fabulous websites and other Flash creations.

Study Examining the Effect of Patients Reading Their Doctor's Notes

2010-09-02
The notes a doctor takes during a visit with a patient can be crucial to that person's care and overall level of treatment. These notes can help a doctor review a patient's medical condition, form a diagnosis and share information with others who may participate in that person's care. For some time, the question has been whether patients should, or would even want to, review what their physicians write in those notes. The movement for patients and consumers to review their own medical records began in the 1970s. During that time, states began enacting laws that promoted ...
