Teens and nutrient deficiencies – A variety of factors influence what teens eat, including social media, peer pressure, and their desire for autonomy. Adolescent nutrient deficiencies can have long-term consequences on health and development. This session will review research on these interconnected risks, identify behavioral challenges, and explore science-based solutions for preventing nutrient deficiencies among teens. Dietary bioactives - Dietary bioactives are food components that promote health but are not essential for preventing nutritional deficiencies. Gut microbiome and resilience – Our diet and the microbes in our gut interact to influence our health in a variety of ways. Well-defended species often share conspicuous body colors with other well-defended or undefended species, forming mimetic interactions. New superconducting diode could improve performance of quantum computers and artificial intelligence

A University of Minnesota Twin Cities-led team has developed a new superconducting diode, a key component in electronic devices, that could help scale up quantum computers for industry use and improve the performance of artificial intelligence systems. Scientists from the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center have developed a new method to bioprint miniature tumor organoids that are designed to mimic the function and architecture of real tumors.
