Matrox Fanless Mura MPX Series Video Wall Controller Boards Named as Finalist in UK's Prestigious AV Awards

Mura MPX Series combines input/output functionality into one fanless solution for enhanced and cost-effective video wall management

2012-08-08
MONTREAL, QC, August 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Matrox Graphics today announced that its flagship video wall controller boards have been nominated for Systems Product of the Year at the 2012 AV Awards, joining a select few high-performance solutions that form key parts of integrated installations. Named a finalist by AV Interactive, the UK's leading audiovisual title, Matrox Mura MPX Series is the first PCI Express Gen2 board class to combine high-definition-resolution inputs and outputs into one solution. Additionally, Mura boards feature a fanless design with no moving parts for enhanced reliability. Their multi-functional design meanwhile facilitates video switching, scaling, and signal conversion, eliminating the need for multiple solutions in countless audiovisual settings.

"Matrox is thrilled that Mura has been nominated for Systems Product of the Year and that its versatility as a video wall solution continues to be recognized," said Helgi Sigurdsson, Product Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. "It is a great honor and this nomination builds further upon the success Mura has found in the PRO AV sector as a cost-effective means to deliver visually stunning and scalable video walls and meet all system requirements."

Matrox Mura MPX Series HD output/input boards provide users with four HD outputs and either four, two, or zero HD inputs. Furthermore, they can be combined together along with Mura MPX-V8 and MPX-V16 analog-capture and MPX-SDI video output/input boards within a given video wall controller system to effortlessly meet the most demanding system requirements. A total of 16 boards can be leveraged together, delivering large-scale installations of up to 56 HD outputs and inputs.

New High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compliance additionally lets users play back copy-protected content from set-top boxes, video streamers, and Blu-ray Disc players on HDCP-enabled monitors, projectors, cubes, and other devices making up high-end video walls found in a variety of environments. These include corporate board rooms, public venues, digital signage, and within the process control sector, for just a few examples.

At the AV Awards, Mura will join exclusive company spanning 7 prestigious product categories and 23 in all. Winners will be announced on October 12, 2012 at the awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
