VERNON, VT, August 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) WCAX, a local TV news station covering Vermont, New York and New Hampshire, featured an interview with Peggy Farabaugh, owner of Vermont Woods Studios, during a piece on Wi-Fi availability at Vermont welcome centers.
"I like to make frequent visits to check in with our craftsman and see some of the furniture that our customers order before it is delivered," said Peggy Farabaugh when asked about her experience with Vermont's welcome center Wi-Fi. "The free Wi-Fi has enabled me to do that."
As the owner of a growing Vermont fine furniture company, part of Peggy's responsibilities include driving throughout the state to meet and visit with affiliated craftsman. In order to stay in touch with her office work while traveling to these meetings, Peggy stops in and uses the free Wi-Fi at welcome centers to check email and make phone calls.
Earlier this year, Vermont was looking for ways to reduce expenses during tough times, so the free Wi-Fi services were close to being cut. Luckily, Al Levy of Route 802 cellphone apps stepped in and picked up the almost $40,000 a year Wi-Fi bill. Route 802 is a digital media company that features a growing network of mobile-optimized applications to provide user-friendly, location-based resources that engage and connect communities with relevant local content and next generation marketing tools.
"We are now living in a digital age where people interact with the web on a daily basis," says Farabaugh. "So it's no wonder that people are turning to the internet to browse for furniture. The days of needing to go to a store to shop are disappearing. Now, shoppers nationwide can purchase furniture made in Vermont, a state quickly becoming known as the fine furniture capital of our country, right from the comfort of their own homes. And thanks to Route 802, Vermonters can even peruse our Website while on the road."
Vermont Woods Studios represents craftspeople across the state, providing a low cost venue for the marketing and sale of their work. Their mission is to collaborate with Vermont's fine furniture makers, enabling them to spend more time in their studios doing what they do best: making beautiful, solid wood furniture.
Vermont Woods Studios has been offering sustainable, natural wood furniture in Vermont and online for 7 years. Their innovative work has been recognized by national media including The Wall Street Journal, ABC World News, The New York Times, Fox News and The Weather Channel. The company offers exclusively American made furniture, each piece handcrafted in Vermont and guaranteed for a lifetime. For further information, please contact us at (888) 390 5571
