Hartman Inventory Systems is proud to introduce Michael Powell, winner of the Home Inventory Business for a Veteran Contest

2012-08-10
AVON, IN, August 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) Hartman Inventory Systems launched a contest on Memorial Day to give away a free business package to a deserving veteran. While there were many truly outstanding applicants, once all entries were reviewed in great detail one person stood head and shoulders above the rest.

Founders Mike and Cindy Hartman wanted to do something for a veteran to say thank you for his or her service. "As business owners ourselves and knowing the sense of pride in owning one's own business, we wanted to help a veteran have that opportunity. After much thought, we made the decision to hold a contest to give away a business package to express our appreciation," explained Hartman. "We were blown away by Michael Powell's extensive service to his country as well as his impressive credentials. After talking to him, we knew he was a perfect fit."

Michael Powell's military career began immediately after high school when he enlisted in the United States Navy. He separated from the US Navy in 1995 to attend Murray State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He received his commission in the Army in the Military Police Corps in 1998, and after 22 years of serving our great nation, Michael retired from the Army and now calls Bennington, Nebraska, his home.

"We chose the name Patriot Inventory to represent my careers with the United States Navy and Army, as well as the opportunity that being a veteran presented to me. I am grateful for this opportunity that the Hartman's have provided for me," stated Powell. "My wife Tricia and I have wanted to begin an inventory business for a long time."

The Powell's know first-hand how important a home inventory is. During a home break-in, several of their personal possessions were stolen. When filing the insurance claim, they realized they weren't prepared for the unexpected. Several possessions were not replaced because they forgot about many of the items. Additionally, there was no documentation to prove ownership of some of the other items they knew they owned. They learned the hard way of the necessity to have a thorough record of the contents of a home or business.

Michael and Tricia are now living their dream of helping others prepare for the unexpected, as owners of Patriot Inventory LLC. Michael concluded, "My military experiences have taught me that you have to be prepared for the unexpected. Hartman Inventory Systems is a business package that will allow me to help people do that. I intend to take advantage of their knowledge and leverage that experience. You can always learn from someone who has been there. The support I have received and will continue to receive will help me meet my personal and business goals."

Hartman added, "Michael's military service is exceptional, and his personality and attitude told me he has what it takes to be a successful business owner. We are pleased to have him as a member of the Hartman Inventory Group."

Patriot Inventory LLC provides personal property inventory services for business owners, home owners and renters in Douglas County, Nebraska.

Nevada Foreclosure Process Slowed by Recent Legal Changes

2012-08-10
A Nevada law that went into effect in October 2011 with the intent of helping to stabilize the housing market has had the opposite effect, some critics say. The new law makes it a felony for lenders to foreclose on properties without first proving that they own the mortgage. Passed in the wake of last year's robo-signing foreclosure scandal, in which several major mortgage lenders were accused of foreclosing on homes without verifying the necessary paperwork, Nevada lawmakers hoped the new measure would revitalize the housing market by reassuring buyers that they would ...

Foreclosure Spike Expected in Indiana, Despite Improvements

2012-08-10
Despite recent signs of stabilization in the real estate market, many experts predict that a new wave of home foreclosures is in store for Indiana and other states where lenders have been slow to work through the foreclosure backlog created during the 2011 robo-signing investigations. Foreclosures dropped off significantly across the country in 2011 due to widespread allegations of improprieties in the foreclosure process. After lenders settled with government officials for $25 billion in early 2012, foreclosure rates spiked again as lenders worked hard to make up for ...
