HOLLYWOOD, FL, August 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) Anthony A. Michel, Owner of Ask the Jeweler, has been selected as an Executive Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Anthony A. Michel's commitment to excellence in Retail and Jewelry Design.
Michel, a fourth generation jeweler from the Navajo Reservation, began working in the jewelry business with Samuel's Jewelers. From there, he went on to work for Fred Myers, JC Penny, Ben Bridge, Crescent Jewelers, and several other mom and pop shops before opening his own store.
Specializing in creating jewelry by hand, Michel also does repairs, sizing, soldering, and custom work. He oversees 15-20 employees and expedites approximately 200 repairs daily. He also does CAD designs and appraisals. His facility, which sits on a 2,500 square foot space, can design, create, and mass produce just about any type of jewelry piece his customers' desire. His store also houses loose diamonds and gemstones and has a 500 square foot retail section as well.
"The thing that has inspired me the most in the jewelry industry is the personal connection clients have with their jeweler and the jewelry," Michel explained. "I like the one on one experience I get with each client I work with, which is why I enjoy doing so many custom designs."
Having twenty-five years experience running a jewelry store, Michel earned a graduate gemologist degree from GIA in 1997. He is the recipient of numerous design awards in the South West Indian Arts and in the San Diego Fair. He was featured in the North County Times and the Job Giant for his works.
