CAI Announces September 2012 Seminars And Development Programs In Raleigh

Local HR Management Firm Offers Training For Business Professionals

RALEIGH, NC, September 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, announced the company's September 2012 schedule of training and development seminars. -"Compliance in a Post-Healthcare Reform World" is a three-hour course for HR managers, benefits managers and any individuals involved in employee benefit decisions that will teach attendees how to plan for the changes and subsequent impacts of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) on employee benefit plans. Topics of discussion will include the emerging importance of control groups and the impact they have on workplace responsibilities, new requirements for discrimination concerns and communication, and whether attendees' contribution strategies will need additional changes. -"Team Leader Certification Program" is an interactive two-day certification program in which participants will develop the skills needed to succeed as team leaders and better understand how to apply these skills to specific workplace situations. Featuring speaker Patty Briguglio, CEO of MMI Public Relations, a full-service PR firm based in the Triangle region of North Carolina, the course will provide attendees with tips and strategies for identifying spokespeople, preparing statements and talking points, dealing with the media, managing social media, putting policies in place for employees and customers, and how best to provide regular training sessions for management in the event of a crisis. The Ask the Expert program is built to be an interactive discussion with a significant amount of time committed to answering questions from the audience. -"Critical Considerations When Performing Background Checks" is a three-hour course that addresses how the growing trends of falsified resumes, theft, embezzlement and civil litigation are leading many companies to start conducting background checks on potential employees. Participants will learn about the laws that specifically apply to background checking such as the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the federal Fair and Accurate Transaction Act (FACTA), and the N.C. Identity Theft Protection Act. During the course, participants will discuss what to consider when making hiring decisions and practical applications of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) law, and will discover tools and techniques to ensure that they are consistently evaluating applicants.
