Color Copying Company Docucopies.com Donates to Support Arts Education in Public Schools

Online digital printing company donates color copies, flyers, and posters for Perpich Foundation fundraiser.

2010-10-08
HUDSON, WI, October 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Docucopies.com, the leading online provider of low-cost color copies and digital printing, last month donated several hundred dollars in services for a fundraiser benefiting the Perpich Foundation, a non-profit organization which focuses on spreading and enriching the quality of arts education throughout public schools in Minnesota.

The foundation is closely tied with the Perpich Center for Arts Education, which includes the public Arts High School, a dormitory (to accommodate students from all across the state), the Professional Development Institute, and more.

The event took place September 11 on a classic paddleboat on the Mississippi River in St. Paul. It featured live music from an array of local artists and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to the Perpich Foundation.

Docucopies provided free color copies, flyers and posters for the event, mainly as promotional materials. They also printed full-color commemorative posters for the attendees.

Items in the auction were donated by Arts High School alumni, local businesses and other organizations from Minnesota. Items included vacation packages, dinner and a night's stay at an upscale hotel in Minneapolis, various pieces of art and photography, autographed CDs from prominent local musicians, and more.

The event brought in over $1,500 for the foundation, which will go into their general fund.

The color copying company and its parent company have a rich history of donating to local charities and non-profits. Earlier this year they donated $5,000 to organizations in the surrounding areas, including EMS departments and a residential drug treatment center for women. In recent years Docucopies has donated upwards of $2,000 to the Urban Arts Academy, a group which organizes after-school and summer arts programs for at-risk urban youth.

New Nitrile Glove Lowers Risk of Dermatitis in Health Care Workers
2010-10-08
Healthcare workers depend on gloves to keep them safe from bloodborne pathogens. But gloves can cause skin irritation or allergy in the health care worker as well as the patient. Due to increased latex sensitivity and allergy to natural rubber latex, many health care facilities have moved to non-latex glove options, including nitrile gloves. However, because of the chemical additives used during the manufacturing process, even nitrile gloves can cause irritant contact dermatitis as well as the more serious Type IV chemical allergy. According to ASTM International, residual ...
