TARZANA, CA, December 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), the world's largest provider of effective, early-intensive behavioral intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), is proud to release an online video series called "Mission Possible: Portraits of Hope" (http://portraits-of-hope.centerforautism.com). The series showcases stories of families affected by autism, who were treated by CARD and achieved amazing results.
"Over the past 30 years I have been awestruck by the passionate, hardworking and dedicated families we work with," says CARD Founder and CEO Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, BCBA-D. "They've overcome so much to help their children succeed socially, academically, and physically. Many of these children now lead happy, healthy and independent lives. We had to share their stories of hope."
The first "Mission Possible: Portraits of Hope" episodes feature three boys - Jem, Justin and Kyle. The prognosis for these boys was bleak when they were diagnosed with autism before the age of five. Thankfully however, their tenacious parents and will to overcome led to extraordinary improvement. These video diaries describe the journeys, challenges and triumphs. Each of these children is now leading a healthy, happy and productive life - even with autism.
"We are so grateful for the quality ABA services we received from CARD," says Jem's mother Shannon Penrod. "It's so important to us to be a part of a project that emphasizes hope and progress. All of our kids are different, but progress is possible for all of them."
"At CARD, we believe in adding value through measurable results. Nothing motivates us more than to see our families and clients succeed. 'Mission Possible: Portraits of Hope' allows us to share their stories and spread inspiring hope. All individuals living with autism can experience these successes," adds Granpeesheh.
