International Collaborators Bring Intimate Lens Ethnographic Film Festival 2012 to Online Audiences

Intimalente Festival Di Film Etnografici Caserta 2012 ~ Eleven international films broadcast online December 6-16, 2012 on www.CNON.tv . Festival passes are $8 and 28% of each sale, funds the filmmakers directly.

VANCOUVER, BC, December 05, 2012

Italian, American and Canadian collaborators, B.R.I.O., New Intelligentsia Online Cinemas and CNON.tv are co-producing an online broadcast of select films from the second Intimate Lens Ethnographic Film Festival Caserta 2012. The live festival, co-sponsored by B.R.I.O. and Bagaria will be held in Caserta, Italy, December 6-9, 2012. The online broadcast of eleven international films from the festival will show December 6-12, 2012 on CNON.tv. Tickets go on sale November 26, 2012; an $8.00 subscription buys access to all of the movies in the show for ten days.

Early this year Cynthia DuVal, a cultural psychologist, ethnographer and entrepreneur approached friends at B.R.I.O. and CNON.tv about co-producing an online broadcast of a selection of films from the Intimate Lens Ethnographic Film Festival Caserta 2012. In July, the group agreed to volunteer time and services to "prove the concept" that they could gather global audiences to watch ethnographic films online.

B.R.I.O. (Brilliant Observation of Reality) is a cultural association dedicated to promoting Italian culture and documentary films focused on cultural themes and methodologies. B.R.I.O. and Bagaria produced the first Intimalente Festival Di Film Etnografici in 2011. They are working together again to host their second and much larger festival at the beautiful Cloister of St. Augustine in Caserta, Italy December 6-9, 2012.

New Intelligentsia Online Cinemas is a DuVal Ethnographic project developed in collaboration with CNON.tv. The film broadcasting website and blog promotes and broadcasts films and builds online audiences for filmmakers, films and festivals that challenge the status quo. DuVal Ethnographic produces independent research projects with social change, innovation, education and entrepreneurial goals. New Intelligentsia Online Cinemas is one such project.

CNON.tv is located in Vancouver, CNON.tv is a Canadian online broadcasting network owned and operated by Julien and Patt Leger. CNON.tv (pronounced Seen On) provide online broadcasting services including self-service and managed online broadcasting accounts to help artists, entertainers, entrepreneurs and educators get their online livecasting up and running and earning money.

The collaborators are rolling out a collective social sharing campaign to take advantage of no-and-low cost social networking channels and build community across their respective networks. B.R.I.O., New Intelligentsia Online Cinemas and CNON.tv each have Facebook pages and Twitter accounts where audiences can learn more about the festival, films and filmmakers and interact, post, share and watch for information updates.

Tickets to the online broadcast go on sale November 26, 2012 for $8.00. For this price audiences gain access to all eleven films for the duration of the ten day run and can watch the films as many times as they like.
