Durham NC School to Benefit from Author Beverly Mahone Book Signing

A portion of the proceeds from the November 27 book signing at Northgate Books by Durham author and radio personality Beverly Mahone will benefit Research Triangle Charter Academy.

2010-11-25
DURHAM, NC, November 25, 2010 (Press-News.org) Beverly Mahone will be at Northgate Books in Northgate Mall (Durham) on Saturday, November 27, 2010 from 2pm to 4pm. She will lead a discussion and sign copies of her newly released book, "Don't Ask and I Won't Have to Lie." She says her decision to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Research Triangle Charter School was an easy one. "This is my small way of giving back to a school I believe in. I see how hard the RTCA teachers work with limited resources and I just want to help make a difference."

Mahone credits her writing abilities as an author to the education she received in school. Without caring teachers to motivate and inspire, she says she may not have discovered writing as her true passion. "It's much like what I see at RTCA, according to Mahone, "The teachers are challenging each child to achieve."

In addition to signing copies of her new book, Mahone will introduce a brand new card game she created called "Don't Ask." Attendees will be invited to play and prizes awarded to the winners. There will also be door prizes and refreshments.

Northgate Books is located inside Durham's Northgate Mall near Entrance 2. RSVP for the release party at http://MahoneReleaseParty112710.eventbrite.com/
