4TH R Foundation: Science Has a Closed Mind on Wisdom - Wisdom is Super Mature Emotional Intelligence (Now Defined Within the Paradigm of Science); Wisdom Education is Emotional Intelligence Education

As man concluded that creating a wise society was not possible the next best way to insure a descent society was to lay out rules and regulations to manage and control its citizens. Our leaders and scientists need to reexamine this tragic policy.

2011-09-16
NEW YORK, NY, September 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) From the very beginning our philosophers and scientists realized that the key to great societies was wisdom. They saw that wisdom was real and that if only they could figure out what it is and how to teach it; they would be able to create wise societies. Ever since the times of Aristotle till today, man has been trying to figure out wisdom by putting wisdom under the microscope. As wisdom is an innate property of the pure self it is a secondary entity; just like fragrance is a property of the flower. It is exactly like a symptom of a disease. So by putting wisdom under the microscope it is like trying to figure out the disease by studying its symptoms.

As a result man has not been able to figure out the exact nature and cause of wisdom. Since the effort to uncover wisdom has been going on for thousands of years without much success; science has concluded that wisdom cannot be defined in words and so it cannot be measured nor can it be taught. Even though research on wisdom is still going on in a few places, mainstream science has concluded that as wisdom cannot be defined within the paradigm of science, main stream science has more or less given up on wisdom.

Thanks to giants like Daniel Goleman and Deepak Chopra now we have scientists studying emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is being defined, measured and in some cases even being taught within the paradigm of science.

Emotional intelligence starts off as ignorance and ends up as wisdom. Most get stuck in between the two extremes. However emotional intelligence is still not out of the woods and so there is no complete subject on emotional intelligence on the horizon yet. The time to teach wisdom as a full subject has come; as we have created complete guidelines on how to create text books that teach emotional intelligence/wisdom.

As man concluded that creating a wise society was not possible the next best way to insure a descent society was to lay out rules and regulations to manage and control its citizens. So the focus shifted from wisdom education to management education. We have since made great strides in the science of management.

The manager's job is to manage the behavior of their workers to make their labor as productive as possible. The highest quality managers are those who are able to emotionally bond with their workers and the biggest headache for the manager are his emotionally challenged staff. The main job of a manager is handling emotional intelligence; the fundamental cause of all behavioral problems!

On the national level the quality of the whole country depends on the emotional intelligence level of its citizens. But governments are not concerned so much about the emotional intelligence level of its citizens. Governments insure civil behavior through rewards and punishments by laying out rules to control and manage the behavior of its citizens.

It is about time that governments, leaders and our current science research leadership wake up to the consequences of managing less than wise human behavior; especially now that we have the blue print to make the society wise.

We cannot calculate the immense consequences in emotional, relationship, economic and other incalculable terms that everyone from individual to government loses; when we ignore the perpetual creation of the majority of the citizens nurtured into emotionally challenged human beings. Recently we asked a top official at the National Science Foundation that how can we improve education when a third of the students come to the class room emotionally unprepared to study. He said that actually 80% is the right figure!

We at the 4th R Foundation have quantified the human mind as follows:

1) Premature mind of a new born child quantified with a value of negative 2.

2) Immature mind of a teenager quantified with a value of negative 1.

3) Mature mind of an adult quantified with a value of positive 1.

4) Super mature mind of a master quantified with a value of positive 2.

Quantifying the mind means that every human behavior is now quantified. Take the example of war and peace. War is a premature activity having a value of-2. State of war is an immature activity having a value of-1. Truce is a mature activity having a value of +1.

Peace is a super mature activity having a value of +2.In order to achieve +2 results one must start with +2 ingredients especially if the supply of -2 ingredients on both sides is unlimited. Take the

example of World War 1 and 11. The first war defeated Germany with -2 ingredients. The -2 ingredients resulted in another -2 World War 11. Only the +2 Marshal Plan created the current +2 relations between the warring factions.

So we allow about 15% of our citizens to grow up into -2 individuals. We mostly control the behavior of this group by letting them be dependent on the rest of society for their living. Mental asylums, prisons are full with this level people. One cannot imagine the economic costs of this group for society. The less visible emotional costs are just as great. Imagine the economic costs and the emotional costs for all the relatives of those in mental asylums. Imagine the costs on the crime victims...

30% of our citizens grow into -1 individuals. These too cause problems to themselves and to society. They are barely able to survive on their own (Ever imagine why 47% of Americans are at least to some extent dependent on Government and they pay on taxes).

Another 30% are +1 individuals. These are almost the ideal and wise +2. These are the ones who were brought up with responsible and loving care. However they were turned into what we call, 'trophy self images' instead of their true self. Because our parents fed us on the 'I am the best' belief. If we Americans could just wake up to the consequences of this devastating belief of our children being the best we will create 50% wise citizens. Just imagine the vast change just this one awakening will accomplish.

15% grow into +2 individuals. We can create the majority to become +2. What are we waiting for?

We would like to invite our leaders and scientists to ponder the following:

"A Frenzy of Irresponsible Borrowing" - Newsweek. Newsweek commenting on the current economic mess.

We can rewrite the same sentence, without losing any truth as, "A frenzy of irresponsible behavior". All that the experts are suggesting is that we have to change the irresponsible borrowing habits and we have to encourage responsible economic behavior. The experts are not looking at the real cause of this irresponsible behavior.

Lets put under the microscope the sentence, /"A frenzy of irresponsible behavior" to look for the real cause of this behavior. We will find that the real cause is "A frenzy of emotionally challenged behavior". So when the government wants to encourage responsible behavior and wants to discourage bad behavior the government uses carrots and sticks. Yet we are not really able to control crime, corruption and 'trophy spending' etc. Just look around and see that nothing changes, inspite of all the new reformed laws and efforts of our government. It is because the root of the irresponsible behavior is emotionally challenged brains/minds. It is like mowing the lawn and the grass keeps growing back up.

It is very clear that the bottom line behavior of a -2 and -1 individual will be controlled more or less by the bottom line emotional intelligence of the individual and not the laws of the land.

Trying to control crime and corruption is like trying to get a pig to have table manners. It is beyond the comprehension of the pig to have table manners. It is like trying to get brass to have the qualities of gold. The way to remove crime is to get/help/guide the criminal to remove his emotional baggage which dictates and controls criminal behavior.

So what we do is, when an individual spends irresponsibly we try to manage his behavior. And persuade others to act responsibly. Just imagine if instead of managing his behavior we actually removed from his brain the causes that produce this emotionally challenging behavior.

We must wake up to the fact that managing human behavior is a lousy solution when we now have a much more perfect way to remove all these ills of society. We can start teaching emotional intelligence/wisdom from at least birth onward through teaching the parents 'wisdom-parenting' and we can introduce a new subject that teaches wisdom from K-12 and beyond. We can also have adult wisdom classes as well as pure-happiness seminars etc.

The big problem with main stream science is that their minds are mostly made up when it comes to defining wisdom. Wisdom has not only been explained by our very own Jesus, Buddha and Confucius to name just a few; The Buddha and Jesus even show us clearly how we can all become wise.

Reassuringly, they found that cancer information found on a wiki was actually similar in accuracy and depth to the information on a peer-reviewed, patient-oriented cancer web site. There is one caveat, however: they found that the information ...
