EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, August 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Rooms in Scotland the re-launched accommodation directory for Scotland has gone through a number of design changes this year. As part of a yearlong programme of redevelopment the website has already had a complete makeover and its development continues this month with a new section for travel in Scotland.
As well as a website re-design, Rooms in Scotland has been developing its social media outlets with over 700 fans on Facebook and a popular Rooms in Scotland Blog now being part of the development of both the brand and company strategy to engage users.
The new sections include listing of over 400 attractions in Scotland and over 200 events in Scotland and it is something the Owner Niall Buchanan is excited by. He states "The changes so far have been met positively by our users and these new areas are a continuing effort to create the best travel website for Scotland on the internet.".
The new attractions section lists attractions for both regions and various towns throughout Scotland. There is also a filter search system in place so users can view attractions by type, price (paid or free) and brands (historic Scotland run, national trust or other). This allows the users to find attractions quick and easy and is similar to the accommodation filter search that is offered on Rooms in Scotland.
As for the events section the usability is similar with anther custom filter search which offers users the chance to filter events by type, month and price. Then when you find the event you are looking for you will find information on dates, prices, location and even a public transport journey planner to get there!
The development of this section is due to continue for the duration of the year with the aim of listing around 600 attractions and 400 events in Scotland by the end of the year. Niall Buchanan said "We still have further developments to make but my goal for a more useable and useful website is taking shape nicely".
Rooms in Scotland is also working on making it easier for those who run attractions, events and activities in Scotland to get listed on their website by implementing an add business form. This will be similar to the accommodation form which currently allows providers to list accommodation in Scotland for Free.
The new section of the website can be found at http://www.roomsinscotland.com/things-to-do/.
Company Information:
Rooms in Scotland is an accommodation directory that list over 1,300 Hotels, Hostels and Bed and Breakfasts throughout Scotland including a great selection of Hotels in Glasgow.
