Leading online collaboration tool MindMeister has just announced the release of their brand new MindMeister for Android application version 2.0, making it easier for Android users to create, edit and share their visualized data, whenever and wherever they are. The app is available now for download from the Google Play Store (play.google.com).

All aspects of the existing Android application have been redesigned with a fully remodeled UI which has made the app easier to use as well as more responsive and dependable. The new app now supports Android tablets and has full library synchronization capabilities. In addition to this a brand-new Geistesblitz widget is also available which compliments the new app.

Based on their award winning browser-based application, the MindMeister for Android app takes full advantage of Android's unique feature set, and offers users the ability to:

'We think that the tablet version of MindMeister offers a great user experience and makes touch-based mind mapping a joyful experience' says MindMeister co-founder and chief operations officer Michael Hollauf.

Tablet Support:
MindMeister for Android 2.0 comes with a stylish new user interface which has been specially designed for large screen devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the brand new Nexus tab from Google. The layout of the app is inspired by the popular MindMeister iPad app but it also introduces a number of new concepts, such as a bottom toolbar for recently used icons and colors as well as a shortcuts buttons to add new child or sibling topics.

Library Synchronization:
The synchronization component has been completely rewritten and decoupled from database and UI operations. This has resulted in a much smoother user experience and more reliable synchronization with the Mindmeister.com service. Every time a mind map is created, edited or shared it will be safely stored in the cloud and synched across all devices. To speed up offline work users will have the option to download their entire maps library and there will also be an option to include the map contents.

Geistesblitz Widget:
The Geistesblitz widget from MindMeister can be added to the home screen of an Android device allowing users to quickly fire notes directly to their default mind map. All ideas and thoughts can be easily recorded and saved, meaning the user never has to forget a great idea while mobile again. The most important addition to the widget is that it now supports voice notes which make it even faster for users to record ideas.
