CAI Announces October 2012 Seminars And Development Programs In Raleigh

Local HR Management Firm Offers Training For Business Professionals

RALEIGH, NC, September 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, announced the company's October 2012 schedule of training and development seminars. All courses will be held at CAI's Raleigh location at 2900 Highwoods Blvd. unless otherwise noted.

-"PHR/SPHR Certification Study Course" is a certification study course that will prepare participants for the PHR and SPHR exams. During the course, participants will focus on six major areas of human resources: strategic management, workplace planning and employment, human resources development, compensation and benefits, employees and labor relations, and occupational health, safety and security. David Siler, SPHR, GPHR, managing partner of Distinctive HR, Inc. will lead this interactive preparatory program. -"Stepping Up to Supervision Certification Program" is an interactive two-day certification program that will help non-supervisors identify and develop the managerial and leadership skills needed for success in a supervisory role. During the course, participants will discuss the rewards and challenges of transitioning from an individual contributor to a supervisor and the key skills and behaviors needed for effective leadership. -"GPHR Certification Study Course" is an interactive eight-session study course that will prepare participants for the GPHR examination. The study course will be led by David Siler, SPHR, GPHR, Managing Partner of Distinctive HR, Inc. In the past, Siler's GPHR prep course students have had an extremely impressive initial pass rate of more than 86 percent. During the course, attendees will study the six functional areas of the human resources body of knowledge: strategic management, global staffing, international employee relations, organizational effectiveness and employee development, global compensation and benefits, and international assignments. -"Improving Communication Using the DISC Assessment" is a one-day, interactive program that will teach attendees how to improve communication skills through understanding their individual DISC style, and how to adapt communication techniques to the DISC styles of others. During the course, participants will learn to understand the four primary DISC styles and describe how each prefers to communicate. The course will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. -"Maximizing Performance: The Power of Feedback" is a three-hour course in which participants will learn the difference between reinforcing and developmental feedback as well as strategies for effectively delivering both. -"Practical Management I Certification Series" is an interactive, skill-building series that will help participants increase effectiveness and enhance the performance of employees.
