Celebrity branded event at the Sundance Film Festival

2013-01-26
LOS ANGELES, CA, January 26, 2013 (Press-News.org) Sustainable film and television producer Debbie Durkin successfully hosted her 6th Annual "ECO HIDEAWAY" at the Chateaux at Silver Lake with the Music Artists Stage presented by Aviir Diagnostic Laboratories and Guitar Center benefiting GUARD A HEART FOUNDATION. An invitation-only hospitality respite, Durkin is bringing the traditional gifting suite into the 21st century on a sustainable and cause-related platform featuring brand "gifts" that are good for the planet and you, creating a total experience offering a Music Artist live entertainment showcase, serving up five star organic foods & beverages, offering high end beauty services and new technologies resulting in the best networking event for all participants.

After partnering with Reverbnation, Durkin Entertainment received over 2,700 band submissions for the chance to perform at "ECO HIDEAWAY" where 20 were chosen to play live music on the Aviir Stage. The music ranged from rock & roll, reggae and hip hop to acapella, folk, and alternative. From former NFL players and contestants from The Voice, the lounge was the place to hear great music during the festival. The bands that performed donated to Guard A Heart Foundation and received a Tru-Risk heart assessment test (valued at $1,500) in exchange for their support. DJ's Mick & Allen from Utah's biggest rock radio station, KBER 101FM's The Freak Show broadcasted live.

Performers included The Almighty Grind; Amy Weber; The Andy Frasco Band; Big A: Burning Slow; Casey Frazier; The Command Sisters; Cruzmatik; Dwende; Erick Macek; Jared Blake; The Lion Drummers; Maddy Wilson; My Cousin, the Emperor; Natalie Gelman; Out of Ether; Pablo Blaqk; The Palace Ballroom; Stolen Rhodes; and VanLadyLove.

Additionally, KBER FM held a statewide on-air contest for Utah to vote for a favorite rock band to perform at the lounge. BonVivant, a group of friends that all play in different bands, joined forces to form a new band and were selected to perform. This was only their third gig playing together and they brought down the house!
Adding to an already amazing musical line-up was a surprise appearance by performers from SOUND CITY including Rami Jaffee (of TheFoo Fighters and The Wallflowers), Jonny Kaplan (of Jonny Kaplan and the Lazy Stars), Jessy Greene a violinist who performs with The Foo Fighters), and then a cameo by actress and activist Daryl Hannah. After checking out the lounge Rami and Jonny then asked if they can get on stage and perform for everyone!
