HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ, April 19, 2014 (Press-News.org) Mike Mitrow is a dynamic and successful businessman who is currently the managing director of Melter Enterprises, LLC, in New Jersey. He has also founded three successful companies in the last twenty years. One of them was named to Inc. Magazine's Inc. 500, as one of the 500 fastest-growing firms in the United States.
But when he isn't working or spending time with his family, Mike Mitrow loves sports fishing. Sports fishing, which is sometimes called big-game fishing, is relatively new; it got started as a sport after the invention of the motor boat.
Mike Mitrow is particularly fond of competing in saltwater fishing tournaments. He calls it one of the best ways for him to totally unwind. During sport fishing tournaments, expert fisherman like Mike Mitrow compete for prizes based on the total weight of a specific type of fish over a set amount of time. Mike Mitrow has caught a lot of blue marlin during competitions. "I really enjoyed the challenge of trying to bring in a big fish," he said.
Mike Mitrow also enjoys non-competitive sports fishing. There are a lot of fish out there. Striped Bass on the comeback off the New Jersey shore, and rival the Bluefish populations. April and May, Mike Mitrow says, are the best times of year for Striped Bass fishing.
Bluefish are in great abundance. Diving birds, Mike Mitrow advises, are a sure sign there are Bluefish in the area. The most popular way to catch Bluefish is to drop anchor and chum with ground bunker to attract the fish while dropping back cut bunker.
During the summer months, Tuna can be caught offshore. Mike Mitrow says the more courageous fisherman can venture fifteen to twenty miles offshore and go for sharks.
Once a fish has been hooked on a line, the real work begins, as one of the fishermen attempts to reel it in. A boat's captain plays a role in reeling in the fish by maneuvering the boat so that the fish remains behind the boat, while other members of the crew begin reeling in other lines to keep them getting tangled up with the fisherman reeling in the fish.
This is the moment that everyone has been waiting for, and Mike Mitrow says the experience is unlike anything else. "After hours of sitting with no bite on your line, the adrenaline rush when you see a 200 pound sailfish on the end of your line is indescribable," he says. "I enjoy the camaraderie and competition that comes along with entering sport fishing tournaments. I have found so many amazing places along the east coast to fish and I am looking forward to competing in my next tournament."
The fishing techniques that Mike Mitrow and his crew uses vary, depending on what kind of fish they are going for. When fishing for marlin, the use of live bait, such as mackerel and yellowtail has been popular. Artificial lures have also been effective when attempting to catch marlin. For many other types of billfish, Mike Mitrow and his team will use a trolling technique in which dead bait of up to 20 pounds is pulled slowly behind the boat.
Summary: Mike Mitrow is an expert fisherman who has been competing in tournaments up and down the east coast. He particularly enjoys fishing for billfish, including white marlin, blue marlin and sailfish.
About: Mike Mitrow is a successful entrepreneur in the life sciences industry. During his downtime he enjoys sport fishing and computing and fishing tournaments.

Lincoln Park Podiatrist Offers Bunion Surgery
2014-04-19
Budding bunions aren't something to scoff at. A bunion is an unnatural bump at the base of the big toe. If it's unnatural, it's only natural to treat it, especially if you experience pain while walking. Since it is a "bony bump," foot creams can't fix it. To alleviate pain during daily activities, roomy shoes, bunion pads and non-prescription pain medicine are used to decrease the pressure placed on the bunion. However, nonsurgical treatments don't always produce the desired outcomes.
"If a bunion is progressive, surgical removal of the bone deformity may be required. ...
