Poetry Launches Off At Harmony Presents

Renowned authors read their recent works at book launch

2012-08-10
YONKERS, NY, August 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) Harmony Presents at the Hawley Silk Mill is hosting "Labor and Transformation," a book launch and reading by a pair of poets on Saturday, August 18, 2012.

Mary Olmsted Greene, author most recently of "Women Outside," will be reading from "Permission," published in 2012 by Stockport Flats. Lori Anderson Moseman, author of many books of poetry and coordinator of the new Confluence series under Stockport Flats, will be reading from her book "All Steel," published in 2012 by flim forum press.

In forms ranging from sonnets to free verse to experimental lyricism, these poems will knock your socks off: they offer portals into the natural world, the world of labor, cultural dysfunction and our struggling planet. They are songs of strength, vulnerability, grief and redemption.

The reading begins at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and books will be on hand for purchase. The event is free.
