The fifth annual blog competition featured 46 of the best blogs in the industry across six categories. This year's voting was neck and neck, with winners determined by just a handful of votes in some categories. After the record number of votes were counted, the 2014 winners are:

"The contest really took off this year and we received more votes than ever before, from 135 different countries," said Todd Jackson, President of Jackson Design & Remodeling, which hosts the annual Blogger Awards contest, "We doubled the number of votes received last year, and the Remodeling and Architecture categories were so close it was literally neck and neck until the final votes were tallied. This really just points to the significance of these bloggers within the industry and serves as a testament to their hard work and dedication in providing reliable information and inspiration to homeowners across the country. The goal of the JDR Blogger Awards is to bring additional recognition to the work of the best blogs in the business, while supporting JDR's efforts to promote the professionalism of the remodeling industry and inspire clients with the latest trends in home design. The winning blogs receive a $500 cash prize and a "JDR Blogger Awards Winner" badge to display on their blog.
"It was rather close near the end, so we weren't sure how things would end up," said Ashley Brown of blog 7th House on the Left. "It's wonderful that the contest gained so much more exposure this year. We'll be sending a portion of the winnings to Habitat for Humanity. We're so thrilled to be able to do that and it makes the excitement of winning even sweeter!"
