AgilePalooza Seattle, WA VersionOne to Host Agile Conference for Regional Developer Community

SEATTLE, WA, September 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) What: AgilePalooza is a community event presented by VersionOne. Meant to be a fun, low cost event linking internationally recognized coaches and trainers with the local software development community, AgilePalooza is a day of collaboration, education and advancement of agile methods.

For $69 attendees receive a full day of agile learning, lunch and a choice of participating in one of two tracks; Learning Agility or Advancing Agility. These tracks offer topics ideal for those newer to agile as well as more experienced practitioners.

Mitch Lacey
Mitch Lacey is an agile practitioner and trainer. Mitch honed his agile skills at Microsoft Corporation, where he successfully released core enterprise services for Windows Live. Mitch's first agile team at Microsoft was coached by Ward Cunningham (creator of the wiki and co-creator of Extreme Programming), Jim Newkirk (creator of nUnit) and David Anderson (Kanban advocate). While at Microsoft, he transitioned from Program Manager to Agile Coach, working hand-in-hand with groups throughout their transition to Agile practices. He is the author of "Adventures in Promiscuous Pairing" presented and published at the Agile 2006 conference, "Transitioning to Agile: Key Lessons Learned in the Field" presented and published at the Fall 2007 PMI Global Congress in Atlanta, Georgia and "The Impacts of Poor Estimating - and How to Fix It" presented and published at the winter 2007 SQE Agile development conference in Orlando, Florida.


Bryan Stallings
Bryan Stallings leads the efforts of the Professional Services Consulting team to maximize the benefits that agile methods present to SolutionsIQ's software development and agile consulting clients. He is an experienced leader of agile adoption initiatives, both as a consultant and as an internal change advocate. Before joining SolutionsIQ, Bryan defined and led the enterprise agile adoption programs at two previous companies where he was employed. A Certified Scrum Trainer, Bryan regularly leads Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner training courses.

Michael Tardiff
Michael has been working with teams to deliver software and services for over two decades, in large enterprises and small startups on both coasts and in Europe. He has a background in operating systems development, enterprise portals, web-based B2B e-commerce, data communications networks, web presence and telecommunications products. He currently blogs on agile topics, and helps coordinate the monthly Agile user group, Beyond Agile.

Chris Sterling
Chris Sterling is a Partner at Sterling Barton, LLC where he works with clients as an Agile Coach, Certified Scrum Trainer and Technology Consultant. Chris brings his real world experience and deep passion for software development into his engagements enabling others to grasp important points and always take away something of value. Chris has created and continues contributing to multiple open source projects. He has been a speaker at many conferences and group meetings including Agile 2007-2009, SD West, Scrum Gatherings, PNSQC 2009 and others. He has been a coordinator of multiple Puget Sound area groups including International Association of Software Architects (IASA), Seattle Scrum, and most recently Beyond Agile.

Brent Barton
Brent Barton is a Partner at Sterling Barton, LLC. Brent has an extensive background mentoring people, enabling teams and guiding organizations toward agility. As a former CTO at SolutionsIQ, Brent has unique insights into challenges that emerge from the increased focus and intensity that iterative and incremental development brings to a business. As a Certified Scrum Trainer and Agile Coach, Brent has helped people, teams and organizations adopt Scrum successfully for many years.
