A survey conducted by the Skin Cancer Foundation reports that over 60 percent of men believe that a single application of sunscreen will last for four hours or more.
The article asserts that this is not the case, as many sun protectants lose effectiveness after as little as two hours. Additionally, sunscreens should be reapplied more often if an individual is sweating or swimming, as moisture can cause the sunscreen to lose strength faster.

These individuals often apply the product in the morning and assume that it protects them throughout the day. What they don't realize is that the sunscreen in their 'day cream' might wear off before lunchtime, especially if they are active.
