KENT, ENGLAND, August 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) As part of their ongoing commitment to their community, Kent-based Foresters UK is sponsoring a local police team's vehicle, helping ease already stretched resources and budgets and giving the team greater flexibility and speed.
Foresters UK, part of the international financial services organisation, are providing a three year sponsorship of a car for use by the Bromley Town Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), showing their continued investment in the local community.
Foresters UK membership director, Steve Dilworth, said: "These are particularly difficult times, and our communities and those that are integral to them such as the Police, are struggling on limited resources and budgets. To ensure effective policing in the area, the Met needs the support of businesses and individuals. Our SNT has made such a big difference in the heart of Bromley so I'm really pleased that we have the opportunity to sponsor a car for them."
Sergeant Amanda Weston, who heads up the Bromley Town SNT, expressed her gratitude at the "incredible generosity and support" of Foresters, adding that the vehicle will prove "a valuable addition" to their resources, and undoubtedly helping free up other police cars responding to emergency calls.
Foresters is well known for its community support and as part of its programmes, recently sponsored a school crossing patrol at the C of E Primary School in London Lane, Bromley, following announcements that the local council were axing lollipop patrols in a bid to cut costs. Speaking at the time, the school Head teacher Hilary Richardson said: "It's marvellous that Foresters are willing to be in the community and to guarantee the children's safety."
