CHICAGO, IL, January 04, 2013 (Press-News.org) Can eating meat make you smarter? According to some anthropologists, a meat rich diet led to the evolution of the human brain (source: National Public Radio). For National Meat Month this January, fuel up and maybe increase your brain power at Benny's Chop House (444 N. Wabash Ave. Chicago, IL 60611; 312-626-2444). It's possibly the city's only steakhouse serving a selection of 100% USDA Prime Natural, Dry-aged and Wet-aged cuts of beef.
Benny's Chop House introduced USDA Prime Natural Beef to its menu a year ago, to rave reviews, making it the only Chicago steakhouse to offer three varieties of Prime beef: USDA Prime Wet-Aged, USDA Prime Dry-Aged and USDA Prime Natural. With the addition of USDA Prime Natural Beef, Benny's offers the highest quality and widest beef selection of any steakhouse in the Chicago area.
USDA Prime Natural beef is raised and prepared for market in a uniquely different way from standard wet-aged and dry-aged beef. The newborn calves are fed a milk-based diet consisting of dry skimmed milk, dried whey protein, dried milk protein, dried buttermilk, vitamins and minerals. After 3-4 months they move to a specially formulated grain-based diet, which they stay on for the next 360-400 days. This diet includes corn, wheat, alfalfa, hay, trace minerals of molasses and vitamin rations, resulting in superior tenderness and incomparably full flavor-truly a consistently extraordinary product.
Benny's Chop House: an all-star meat program
The exceptionally designed a la carte menu features meat as the star. USDA Prime Wet-Aged steaks include the 16 oz. Bone-In Filet Mignon ($59.99) and the 12 oz. New York Strip Steak ($36.99). USDA Prime Dry-Aged steaks included the 16 oz. Bone-in Rib Eye ($56.99), the 22 oz. T-bone ($74.99) and a show-stopping 32 oz. Porterhouse ($109.99). USDA Prime Natural steaks include a 7 oz. Filet Mignon ($36.99), the 10 oz. Filet Mignon ($49.99), the Bone-In New York ($49.99) and the 16 oz. Rib Eye ($42.99).
If you are not in the mood for beef, Benny's also has a flavorful selection of other meats. The Colorado Lamb Chop ($42.99), Prime Veal Chop ($43.99), and classic Pork Chop ($25.99) are all memorable entrees. Benny's also has a House-Cured Maple Glazed Bacon ($14.99) dish that is grilled to perfection.
These exquisite meat dishes are served in a beautiful, sophisticated setting mixing traditional design with a modern execution. Stop by Benny's this January for its wide selection of the tastiest cuts of meat in town.
