California Hinduism Summit to Discuss Hindu Identity, Human Rights and Issues Facing Hindus in America!

The Hinduism Summit aims to answer questions, dispel misconceptions, increase understanding and provide practical guidance about Hinduism through speeches made by prominent Hindu leaders, posters on Hindu Dharma and videos regarding spiritual science

2010-08-24
MOUNT LAUREL, NJ, August 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) Hundreds have already registered to attend the Hinduism Summit, to be held at the Sunnyvale temple in California on August 28, 2010 (Shravan Krushna Chaturthi, 5112 as per the Hindu lunar calendar), either in person or via the live webcast. This interest is not surprising considering that the topics up for discussion at the Summit, address many aspects of living as a Hindu in America. Some of the topics are Maintaining a Hindu identity, Issues facing Hindus, Hindu human rights and Understanding, living and preserving Hinduism in daily life. Prominent leaders like Shri Rajan Zed, Dr. Mihir Meghani and Shri Easan Katir will be speaking on these topics.

A highlight of the summit is a special "ask the speakers" session at the end, where attendees will get an opportunity to ask the speakers any questions they might have on Hinduism. More questions will get answered by the exhibition of posters on Hinduism to be displayed at the venue and the videos shown throughout the Summit. For example, children often ask why we do certain things like touching the steps of the temple on the way in, when we go to a temple and we don't know why. The video "Taking Darshan of a Deity in a temple," to be shown during the Summit will answer that and other questions.

Knowing more about the unique spiritual science behind Hinduism concepts and practices can enhance faith and increase the enthusiasm for practicing it. Coming together as Hindus in America builds unity and a sense of community to address the growing issues being faced by Hindus. To foster this aim and to ensure its success many Hindu Saints, scholars and ascetics have blessed this Summit. The latest being Sadhvi Ritambhara of Param Shakti Peeth and Vatsalya Gram and Mahamandaleshwar Sri Sarvanand Saraswati Maharaj of Uttarkashi.
